I think I have done blood starved beast, did him on my second go. Weird how some people find some bosses easy that others find hard and vice versa.

They were all quite easy for me but I've never done the DLC. It depends what type of player you are

I'm a nook and cranny explorer type so I'm always very well prepared when I get to a boss

Orphan of Kaos, no all the dlc bosses are mental. Although amazing, loved the Lawrence battle.

This game is extremely confusing and very Cthulu. I found a tonsil and took it to a place and things happened. Very weird things.

Suicide run it to figure out where they are and rush them down. They are pretty BS, but the redspider versions in the chalices are far, far worse...

You are mistaken Sir. The bell ringers that appear after you summon help don't respawn, however

That's what I did, I just ran through the whole area, which is such a shame really. And to be honest I'm doing it in the next area too because of these fucking spears that are hitting me out of nowhere. I'm not sure why everyone thinks this is up there with the dark souls series, there seems to me to be so many shitty mechanics and decisions they've made. The worst is the blood vials don't regenerate and the lanterns don't allow you to rest at them - basically they made it an arse for you to even try to farm them.

Finished this late last night. I didn't even see a chalice dungeon (at least I don't think I did) which I had heard so much about, I guess they must be optional but I don't even have a clue where they are. I have a lot of problems with this game, that's not to say there aren't enjoyable sections, but it isn't anywhere near to the quality of dark souls, in fact I think it has gone backwards in design.

@AaronTurner you got your first chalice after killing bsb. The grave stones along the path left of the doll leading to the side entrance to the workshop is where you take it. You should have another from Amygdala and another from Ebrietas. Rest are found in the dungeons. A lot of unique bosses and enemies down there.

You doing the DLC for this one?

Personally I think BB is some of Froms finest work.

I would like to see one of the chalice dungeons but I just never stumbled across it, although like you say I think I had a few of the chalices. I guess I always thought itíd be a part of the progression and then it never happened. I enjoyed parts of the game like the forbidden woods, but generally the bosses (for the storyline anyway) were very easy and there was very little variation in the game, I mean the first half in old yarnham, central yarnham and the cathedral ward all look exactly the same. I certainly enjoyed it more than my meager attempt at Sekiro, but perhaps Iíll go back to that one with my grounding in From games, but my feeling is that I still wonít enjoy it either.

Also, Bloodborne felt very short (for a Souls type game), I wouldnít be surprised if my save file was less than 20 hours.

@AaronTurner the chalice dungeons are found in the dream area. If you look at the gravestones on the left of the area as you are facing the house you will see where they go.

From games are actually not that long, I can run through dark souls (all bosses and DLC) in about 12-13 hours and i am no expert.

I think once you know the game they arenít that long, but for a first play through I felt Bloodborne was particularly short.

BB's on the shorter side as From Software games go, if you skip the Chalice Dungeons. I'd put it as slightly smaller than DS1 and a lot smaller than DS2. Still way bigger than Sekiro, though.

But the Chalice Dungeons add a lot to the game in terms of size. Some of them are randomly generated, but even excluding those, there are a lot of extra dungeons and bosses in there (including the hardest fight in the game, imo, Defiled Amygdala).

I liked Bloodborne a lot. It's not on a par with Dark Souls and I'd put it slightly behind Scholar of the First Sin (largely because the DS2 DLC content was so damned good), but it's still above the rest of the genre.

@AaronTurner Did you do Nightmare Frontier and Upper Cathedral Ward out of curiosity? What ending did you get?
