@Bichii yeah thatís the place. Iíve got the hang of it now but the guys with the snakes growing out of their necks were a nightmare

I remember the Shadows being quite tough back in the day so might have to grind a bit

I will say one thing though, itís an extraordinarily beautiful environment to play in, I forgot just how awesome it was

It's such an amazing game but after three or four night with it I can definitely say sekiro is the pinnacle.

No way. Sekiro can never be spoken of in the same terms as Dark Souls

Sekiro is Episode I - Jar Jar Binks and all

Dark Souls is Empire Strikes Back

    You decide

Never say that to my face :).

    Sekiro
    BB
    Ds1
    DS3
    Ds2

Demons I never fully committed to so I'll properly add that after I play the remake.

Going back to dark souls after playing sekiro to Ng++ is like going backwards when it comes to gameplay. Sure dark souls games are 10/10 in their own right but when straight compared to sekiro it's pretty painful.

Sure the world design, characters, story, enemies etc are up there with sekiro the gameplay is not even in the same league.

To be fair Dark Souls 1 is unparalleled. Watching my boy play through for the first time and I'm just reminded how utterly fantastic it is. Sekiro is like a one note arcade spin off in comparison.

I disagree a bit there. I love love love dark souls, but feel you are being far to harsh on Sekiro. It is dark souls sanded down to the perfect diamond. Does it lose something by being so laser focussed, yes.. is it worse than dark souls off of, I donít think so.

I love them all but Sekiro isn't even as good as one of the latter, bunk areas of Dark Souls 1. The game is a masterpiece.

Resubbed to Psn recently, so have access to BB in my library again. Might start a new play though again.

    Do it! :)

Re areas sekiro doesn't have any shit areas unlike nearly all the other games. Although it does repeat a certain area one too many times unfortunately.

I don't think it's fair to compare BB or sekiro to souls really. They're different games. Fine to do the souls 1,2,3 comparison but the other two games are simply different.

As much as I love the souls games, I really love the theme of BB, its like a Victorian Purge.

I am sure I have said this exact thing before, but I also feel the need to defend Sekiro constantly 🤣🤣🤣, maybe I liked it more than I realised.

Also I think I might officially like dark souls 3 more than dark souls. I had the option to buy either game on pc this week and picked 3... didnít think that was the case at all.

At the time dark souls was one of the best games ever made, still is. However I find 3 better to play through nowadays just because of its gameplay refinements. There's quite a bit of jank and some poor areas later that 3 doesn't have.

I do think I should maybe give Sekiro another shot. I think I'm judging it more and more harshly as time goes on.

It's just hard to justify going back when there are other games of this ilk that I gebuinely get more enjoyment out of playing.

Tell you though it's great watching the wee man going through DS1. All the excitement I first felt playing it, he's getting.

Although the BKH just dropped for him now so I'm actually starting to think he's somehow hacked the fucking game.

Watched someone called marz play BB last night, can't remember the video title but it caught my attention. Anyway she taught me something that I never knew, you can Stealth around the frenzy singing enemies! Knowing that would have helped in the nightmare frontiers!! :).

Right then sell me this game (specifically revan as she seems to love it more than her kids ;) )
I have had this on my ps4 for years ? played the opening bit and I mean the opening bit only.

I love the Gothic style but I am shite, shite and shite again as "Souls" type gameplay, why should I give it a proper and sustained go ?

    @DUFFMAN5

Yes, it's telling that for a near launch title on the ps4, there is still a lot of love for it and one of the best games this Gen.

Edit: If you are going to play it, get the parrying going, a bit more forgiving imo than souls games. Also pays to be a bit more aggressive.

    It's great.

Die and get a little better each time.

I loved it, although never could beat one of them near the end, but did complete the base game.

    Stupid amy. [\spoiler]
