Played a bit more this morning - still impressed :)

I've turned the sensitivity on the controls down a but more as suggested by Duffman, with the rest of the controls absolutely fine, except that I do occasionally accidently throw a grenade...

I should get to Boom Boom tonight :)

It's pretty damned excellent imo. Spent a good eight hours travelling over the weekend and Borderlands made it fly by. Barring a couple of crashes, the framerate isn't anywhere near as bad as I thought it was going to be, it actually looks pretty good and thankfully plays just like BL2.

@Ror1984 that's always been my biggest gripe with Borderlands.
I haven't played a Borderlands game since the first one came out, so I guess I forgot that happened! Lesson learned: next time put it in standby :p

I've got used to the sensitivity now. I had turned it down, but it made controlling the buggies very sluggish, so cranked it back up and have got the hang of it.

Makes me wish we could get a couple of other AAA games on Vita even if the frame rate is similar to this. I suppose sales is the biggest boundary.

Agreed, I think the graphics are among the best on the system.

Hopefully we will get some more ports since Sony's main set of PS2 collections is almost out, they will need some other stuff to port over.

LBP Karting and Puppeteer perhaps? Not a huge fan of LBP:Karting but Puppeteer would be welcome.

    I'm thinking bigger. Oblivion?

Kingdoms of Amalur would be my ideal pick.

And having played both 3 and NV on PS3, I'm perfectly used to juddery frame-rates and frequent crashes ;)

Excellent. I would also try and play either game on home machines though. :)

If it weren't for USGamer's 4/10 (2/5) then the Metacritic average for this would be the mid 70's.

I'm not sure why it's being marked down so much you can play borderlands 2 anywhere in the world in a device that fits in your pocket, yes the frame rate could be better but it's really not that bad.

It's a shame there's not a demo on the store really, so those on the fence could try it for themselves. It's all very well those of us that have it saying how much we're enjoying it, but people are still going to be wary when it's their money on the line.

That said, I went into it fully expecting it to be to a dog's dinner, and I'm absolutely loving it. Thanks to a gift card I had, I've bought four games over the last few days: Watch_Dogs on PS4, Wolfenstein on XBO, Mario Kart on Wii U and Borderlands on Vita. To my surprise, Borderlands is the one I keep getting pulled back to. I've got about ten hours on the clock already, which is a lot for me. I keep having to tear myself away.

If you've got twenty quid and don't mind taking a bit of a risk, you should give it a go.

Yup, loving this. The frame rate in certain areas even when just walking does make my brain a bit fuzzy but you get used to it :-P

    Eagerly awaiting a patch though.

Yeah, it's ace, and probably the closest thing we'll ever get to Diablo on a handheld, in the medium term at least. Different genre and not randomly generated levels of course, but it tickles the same practically endless killing and looting itch.

Not really that far into it, played a Siren to level 10 but that was a bit silly since I'd already lvl 50+ one on the PC. Switched to a Mechromancer, slightly different feel and exploring a different skill tree is always nice. Anarchy is great, just have to resist the urge to reload compulsively.

I have to say, playing Mechro, it does feel a bit easy at times as you can just throw out your robo-buddy and have him take all the aggro.

But then I guess he has pulled my arse out of the fire a few times :)

Using the Mechromancer if you're going solo is so much easier than some of the other classes. Deathtrap really does save you more than you realise! :-D

Yeah, Mechro feels way overpowered compared to the Siren already due to Deathtrap and the health regen perk available early. Does it stay op'd throughout? Pity if it does, does feel too easy so far and I dunno if I want to persist with it. Only really did upto TVHM in BL2 on PC, and much of the time I felt over levelled with the Siren so god knows what the Mechro will feel like eventually.

Gah, why did they make the "trash" gun command the rear touch pad?! The amount of decent guns I have lost without realising whilst visiting a shop is getting silly now! - its a great game though. Glad I took the plunge.

Has anyone noticed a difference when playing in airplane mode?

Also is anyone using gyro aiming?

I've only played it in airplane mode, so I can't say if it's made a difference.

As for gyro aiming... sort of. I play with inverted y, which stupidly inverts gyro aiming too, so it's usually more of a hindrance than a help. I tend to just use it along the x axis to track moving enemies.

I have not played in airplane mode at all. Only lvl 9 and a few hours in, but I really have not noticed any major slowdown, it is there sure, but not bad at all. I have played a few hours in coop as well and again no issues. My grip came yesterday, so I will give that a go tonight.
