Main thing I hate is the survival gadget. Allows the operator to self revive once per deployment if killed by a shot to the body/arm/leg
Been caught out by it before I knew about the gadget. Tried it myself and it feels a bit cheap. Get killed, let them turn their back on you, self revive and get the revenge kill -

I got one the day the beta was announced but the key I was given is invalid apparently.
I do know that there will be an open beta for all platforms before the game is released, thankfully. -

To be fair this may be dlc, but how is this any different to other fps modern sequels? Every year without fail we get another CoD, Battlefield, Medal of Honour etc.
They are all the same, sure some single little feature will be the selling point (this time cops and robbers) but otherwise the same. And people buy them regardless. If they changed the HUD and UI would that suddenly make it all ok?

I've had Hardline sitting on my ssd for the best part of a week. I haven't even tried it.
I'm a flat out BF fan. Bought and played every one including DLC's. If you asked me through the years what my favorite game was I'd say BF, so I guess my lack of enthusiasm to play HL goes to show how damaging number 4 was to the franchise. IMO -

Registered 9 years agoI want sure about the whole cops and robbers theme. I like to have some semblance of believability, I mean 32 robbers shutting down a whole city block to fight it out with cops over a securicor van is a bit pants. I don't see how they can get more than one large map out of that without it seeming ridiculous.
I thought it was fun but maybe it would be more suited to a smaller game mode, maybe like 6/8 a side
I know the modern warfare theme is pretty played out too, but at least that has many different fronts which can be used for more believable maps. -

Registered 16 years agoLukewarm reception has them scared half to death I'd have thought.
I think the cop's snd robbers formula will attract and put off gamers in equal measure. I think what they need to focus if this is a genuine delay, is to polish the gameplay until it shines and I suppose make it less hard work to actually have fun. To the newcomer, Battlefield is still horrible frustrating game to play.
I've put hundreds of hours into the Battlefield games, but after an hour on the new maps, even I realised I wasn't actually having fun and went back to Titanfall.

Registered 15 years agoI liked the Beta more than I liked BF4 in any case. Guns actually had some form of recoil which was a nice throwback to when the series was good. And it wasn't quite as filled with billions of gadgets, but I guess that would change once the inevitable 18th DLC released. -

Registered 11 years agoJust watched the campaign at Gamescom EA conference.Very impressed with the characters and story setting I saw.But this is Visceral so could be actually worth playing.
Plus Rescue mode could be heart pounding fun -

They should rename this Battlefield: Harry Potter. -

Registered 10 years agoWhy has next to nothing been shown of this games sp so far. I'm thinking of putting a preorder down as it has the potential to do something different. I'm hoping it's not just about 3 hours long. -
So this is going to be on the EA thingy (Access?) on Xbox One, right? I've never used that service before but it seems like a good deal for Hardline as I could probably play through the entire campaign in the 10 hours offered. Does anyone know when it's actually going up and if there's a time limit on when Hardline will be available or if I'd be able to start a subscription in a couple weeks time and still be able to play it?
