ZOMG? Please James Spader's hair, please come back to us. Sadly, I fear it has gone forever...

I have such a soft-spot for Stargate, except the fucking kid. Always a fucking kid ruining things.

List of things that dont need rebooting:

    1) A nominally successful movie that spawned four spin off series that lasted for a period of nearly 15 years.

I never really liked the original film and what I saw of the TV stuff was only pretty average. Surely over all the series they have mined it for every possible idea it had in it.

SG-1 is possibly my favourite TV show ever. Watched it every Sunday with my Dad when it was on, good bonding time for us. Never got into the other spinoffs.

Also have fond memories of the movie. Seemed like it was on the TV every weekend. I don't trust a reboot though. I think they'll make the tone too serious, dark and gritty which will make it bobar.

That is not a phrase you'd ever expect to come across.

On the contrary, it has (had?) quite a cult following.

It was never going to win any awards but it was good fun. Good characters, interesting concept and Richard Dean Anderson starring as Richard Dean Anderson.

I actually really don't like Richard Dean Anderson. I just think he is a crap actor. That might be some of my issue with SG-1. Even when he cropped up in the crap Universe he managed to stink it up even more.

He's not a great actor. In a cheap sci-fi TV show, who is? But I find him pretty funny and his interactions with the rest of the cast were great. When he packed it in, the show lost a lot of what I liked about it.

I barely watched Universe so I can't vouch for that, but I will say by season 8 of SG-1 he basically lost interest in acting, got old and fat and occasionally turned up for the pay cheque.

If you think Richard Dean Anderson was crap, you didn't have the pleasure of watching Ben Browder in the latter seasons.

Remaking any film that stars Kurt Russell is doomed to failure.

Universe was caught in the bow wave of Battlestar Galactica, meaning everything had to be relentlessly bleak, with human interactions taking center stage ahead of shooting aliens.

This led to the show being centered around a bunch of morose, unlikable wankers who did nothing but complain at each other until the show was cancelled.

Was going to mention that, but I couldn't for the life of me remember neither the actor nor the characters name... That's what happens when you give your starring role to the actor with the personality and talent of a filing cabinet.

I love the movie but found the TV show to be typical low budget TV sci fi. Nothing terrible or anything, but they went from a typical modern military / science unit with conflicting interests to a sort of Starfleet in the series.

Also the cool Egyptian god enemies with transforming helmets turned in to overly serious TV villains. Hopefully the reboot is more like the film than the show.

Always thought a Stargate 3rd person adventure could be amazing.*

    *ruined by rubbish publishers.
