Registered 17 years agoSad news. It does make me wonder about the speed of death though. It's amazing how quickly news like this spreads these days. -
I remember when he had the quad bike fall and messed his head up a bit. Still, he was such a unique comedian.
His voice is swimming around in my head at the moment. I need to watch some Lord Flashheart

Registered 18 years agoDefinite RIP. Young Ones was and still is superb, and was essential (and had to be sneaky) viewing. Alan B'stard and Bottom too. Comic Strip Presents. A real loss.
Edit: And Flash! How could I forget Flash

Registered 17 years agoYup - what a real shame. Young Ones was a big part of me growing up. Growing up not really understanding the comedy, but enjoying the slapstick, then understanding the comedy as well when older.
RIP, you spazzy.

I remember his little cameo on "Let's Dance for Comic Relief" a couple years back and it put a genuinely enormous smile on my face!

Registered 16 years agoWell, that's a bit out of the blue.
Saw him live a few years ago when they toured a stage version of New Statesman set in the Blair years (B'stard had defected to New Labour, naturally). He was still ace. -

And because no-one else has mentioned it, "Filthy, Rich and Catflap" was fantastic too.
56 is no age to go. -
