Little to get excited about, we knew it was a thing and this shows off very little but obviously if its in game (which I presume it will be knowing ND) then the graphics do look pretty nice.

Other than that, until I see more, *shrug*.

(I loved UC2, UC1 was solid and UC3 felt a little stapled together at times).

Well I hope they finish the series with this and that it is up to the standard of the second game (agree with the summary of how good they were there).

Isn't this the same engine that they've been using on PS3? (it's obviously been designed to scale). Aren't the main creative guys from UC2 and TLoU working on this too?

When this hits I won't have played an Uncharted game in about 3 years, so I'm also in for this.

    Those graphics were photorealistic, amazing!

Not the first time muttler has been taken in by visual trickery.

I was wondering if it was, but are you sure?  UC games don't tend to do prerender.

Does anyone else think this will be the last Uncharted? The title seems to suggest so. Not that I'm complaining mind.

Also, I don't think a thief's end will mean Drake dies. Could just be his last adventure like the trailer indicated or perhaps Sully...

2015 at the end of the trailer.

Not just the title, but also the "one last time" line that is repeated a couple of times.

Until the obligatory reboot in 2020

Somehow I can't see Naughty Dog refining the engine for the PS4 just to make one Uncharted game. This franchise is a system seller like Halo on the Xbox and Mario on Nintendo's consoles. I expect we will see at least an Uncharted 5 and possibly 6 on the PS4. At least I hope so but it is a great franchise and one that heavily inspired the recent Tomb Raider reboot.

It's a trailer and one that doesn't feature any gameplay however, let's look back to The Last of Us; the disparity between the visuals in the cutscenes and in the game itself was very close, almost like-for-like at times.

... therefore the only thing I can bring myself to do is:

    O_O

Naughty Dog are wizards! If there's one company that doesn't 'cheat' their way with reveals, it is them. The Uncharted 3 desert reveal was more or less exactly the same when the game came out.

I wouldn't be surprised if that's very close to in-engine footage judging by how much juice they managed to squeeze out of the PS3 with TLoU. They have a very gifted tech team.
  • Deleted user 10 June 2014 08:36:41
They'll use the engine again, but that doesn't mean it will be for another uncharted.

It'll be the last Uncharted like Halo 3 was the last Halo, about eight Halo games ago.
  • Deleted user 10 June 2014 09:49:54
Now, strictly speaking, Halo 3 was never the last Halo. It was the game to 'finish the fight', i.e. against the Covenant.

Of course, Halo 4 also had Covenant, but y'know...

No idea why but someone made the video look more daytime.

@Ron_Justice There was a campaign to convince them to cast Fillion in the film.

@Dr.Haggard Visually at least, it'd be a good match.

TBH, judging by the quality of the recent trailer, a purely CGI movie would probably look amazing. Cost the earth and take forever to make, but it could look the business.
