| Being an old bastard at 32, I don't understand PewDiePie at all but, as his success is on youtube, it's very easy to avoid. It's not like he's constantly being plastered all over our TV screens and is therefore unavoidable. |

I used to like Matt Lees but I just haven't been interested in any of his content since he left Videogamer. Even the new abridged stuff which used to be comedy gold has fallen a bit flat for this year's E3. I've been a follower of his for years but I just don't like anything he produces now.
XCOM Sponge Squad.
Also I find it a bit baffling that a few let's plays, a podcast and a weekly "Hi guys! I've been really busy!" video equates to value for money from the £2500 a month that's funding him through his Patreon page. I know creativity doesn't grow on trees, but still. -

Going on youtube and advertising a Patreon campaign is the equivalent of busking. -

Registered 9 years agoJust thought I'd chime in on the subject by firstly saying that I cannot stand pewdiepie. Secondly, there are a few decent YouTube personalities out there.
Personally, I'd go for AllShamNoWow. He plays games that range from awful, to acceptable, to impressive, and makes fun of the former two as he goes. He's currently playing through Vin Diesel's Wheelman, but other games of note are Saw, Man vs Wild, and the Tony Hawk games. He's hilariously sarcastic.
Absolutely despise the 12-year old appeal of many YouTube videos these days.
Edit 2: you can't go wrong with Criken2 either. He's a classic.

I would agree if the content was paywalled, but you can access the material, advert and sponsor-free, without contributing a penny. Also, unlike busking, it's up to you whether you watch the material.

Don't get me wrong, it's nice work if you can get it I think. The trick is being entertaining enough to get it. -

But anyway, I know it's the new cool to be "old and unaware" but if you don't like https://www.youtube.com/user/Robbaz/videos then you don't deserve to be on my internet. -

I was being facetious. I really son't understand PewDiePie at all, and that does make me feel kind of old. Like he's making 'jokes' and funny noises that only a younger brain can decypher.

Plus one and I'm only 34, I liked one of his vids, a compilation of best moments. But other than that it's just annoying.
