    English isn't your first language?

Erm, I'd take that with a pinch of salt - that's one of the least credible 'articles' I've read in a long, long time. Seems to boil down to "someone said something vague on NeoGAF". Judging by the comments my scepticism is very much shared.

FFVII should be kept exactly as it is. A 'remastered hd collector's edition uncut update' would most certainly ruin anything this game holds for me

Yes, good point FF7 was in the golden era when cutscenes were nice 5/10 minute rewards inbetween hours of actual gameplay. Do we really want 5 hour melodramas between Tifa and Aeries?

I can't imagine anyone would want the current FF team to remake a beloved previous entry.

Couldn't be less excited about this. I do not see what this game could offer in a remake beyond nostalgia. It had a good battle system but its certainly a very linear RPG in comparison to current gen ones. Though I guess it would appeal to FFXIII fans who like their corridors.

I would be much more interested in a remake of FFVI. With current gen graphics they would have more creative freedom. Plus the screenshot looks more like Kingdom Hearts to me. Surely this would be announced at TGS anyway. Especially as Squenix seem to only focus on what Japan wants when it comes to FF.

I would rather they focused on making FFXV amazing, than bothering a remake.

Ok ok, I just thought I'd check as you don't seem to have understood what was written in the article you linked, nor know what the word 'confirmed' means.

    FFS muttler.

    1. It's not confirmed - even the article says it's a rumour to be taken with a pinch of salt.

    2. The 'confirmation' comes from a post on neogaf.

    3. They have a pictuer of Cloud, who looks PS2 quality, with the article later saying the 'leaked image' isn't from the game at all. So why is it there?

    4. It's a piece of shit site no one has heard of, because no other site is reporting it.

    5. Even if it was true (it's not) given the output of the FF team the past few years, this would be shite.

I expected better from you. For shame, muttler. For shame.

The FFVII remake will happen eventually, but only when they need it as a last throw of the dice for either the Final Fantasy series or themselves as a company. The level of interest and hype alone will shift a boatload of copies even if the game is utter shit, which I fully expect it would be.

They've been trying to make Advent Children: The Game since XIII. They might as well go whole hog and rape the iteration that kick started their obsession with all that bullshit.

I wouldn't mind if they updated a couple of the character models for the open world play, they are about the only thing that has aged imo.

The cutscenes still look fine, the battle visuals are still great and the pre-rendered backgrounds are also still good.
Is this based on a recent play through, or a rose tinted memory? Because it all looked very much of it's time when I played a few months ago. For me that's fine, I've got the memories to back up my opinion, but to a 15 year old it's going to be pretty much bollocks.

Personally wouldn't mind an Android/iOS remake similar to how they've redone some of the other FF's for mobile.

So long as it's not Pay2Win Materia!

That photo is a long way below the graphics Sqenix would produce for PS4. Looks like Crisis Core with the resolution bumped up.

Now all we need is official confirmation that a FF7 remake is coming exclusively to Wii U. That'll end the thread nicely. :-P

Think the only way this would work would be to get a Western developer involved.
