Yeah. I still rate the first two games above this one. They may look ugly by today's standards and Lara may control like a tank, but the sense of isolation in the middle of such a huge puzzle is what made those games great.
There were moments like that in this, and they were wonderfully delivered.

It shows that the studio are more than capable of creating a brilliant modern return to TR's roots should they ever decide to can the Uncharted aspirations.

Why did this need so many gunfight against regular army dudes? Give me dinosaurs, mythical creatures and aliens any day.

Finished this up over the last few days. Thumbs up from me.

Although there's a bit too much of Lara murdering army dudes, it's still an enjoyable game. Puzzles felt rewarding to solve and climbing and transversal were fun. The closing few levels felt kinda epic.

All in, the 20th Anniversary edition offers a tonne of content. Great value

Im close to completing Tomb Raider(2013) and was thinking of picking up ROTTR in this months humble bundle. While im enjoying tomb raider for the most part it does get a bit repetitive after a while, particularly the scenery and same location. Is there more locals in this and does it improve on 2013's offering?

@ecu Yeah, your right. Think I'll hold of till next year maybe. Only just finished Uncharted 4 and I think I could be a bit fatigued with the genre. Found Uncharted very repetative and long. Enjoying Tomb raider more but will definetly give it a break and pick up cheap next time. Thanks.

The format of Rise is different - it's essentially set over 2 locations (2 hubs, with linear levels that loop around from them) Tecnically it;s all one location, geographically, but you only get access to the 2nd halfway through the game, and then spend the rest of the game there (you can travel back and forth though).

I played them back to back. The second is better in most ways but it takes a little bit of play to actually feel that.

Yeah, I quit this a couple of hours in. Didn't realise I was signing up for Gears of Lara.

    Shadow is better though.
