Registered 14 years ago@CompetitiveDad It's a pure golfing sim so much harder and nowhere near as fun as Everybody's Golf, rather than pinging in birdie's everywhere you'll spend more time trying to get pars.
Still a great game though, it has a course creator so there's endless courses to play but it's rough around the edges. -

@claypool thanks mate. I asked mangojoe and he said that it's a pure SIM, like I said I love the gold on EG. Just hope it's gets more challenging!! -

There's no way to play with friends other than 4 way stroke play. There's no online tournaments. The Open Course thing is weird, if you wanted to play against friends you would need to take a manual score - there's no friend comparison option on the daily scoreboard.
More crucially, the central game has lost some shot mechanics; and the fun of selecting a character and load out has been replaced by a grind and pay to win. On the PS3 game, there were friendly tournaments of 50 where you were forced to select novice load outs, a great leveller, and a fun way to pass time between ranked tournaments.
Even the single player is a step back, with slow pacing releasing courses, and no unique challenges.
There is still a great golf game in there somewhere, and I'm still having fun, but I'm struggling to adjust at the moment. -

Registered 14 years ago@Gaol Agree with most of that, however I'm sure all those modes will be added, I've read that they patched in tournaments etc.. after release on the last couple of games.
What shot mechanics have they got rid of? I've been playing a lot of World Tour recently and from what I can see it's exactly the same except for the advanced swing which I never used. -
I used circle shot and miss it badly. I agree, when they patch in tournaments it will help a great deal. -

Also, anyone who ordered from Amazon, ask them to speak to the product team for your pre-order code. I got mine sent by email today after speaking to someone on the online chat yesterday. Hope it helps someone. A refund of £4 wouldn't cover all the bonus DLC and so you really should complain. -

Registered 8 years agoBeen waiting for this for years, but felt a bit odd playing it earlier. The graphics hurt my eyes a little. Has anyone else had this? It feels like the colour saturation or something is a little off.
Bear in mind I'm getting on a bit and it's a fairly cheap 32" TV, but I don't have this problem with any other games.

Registered 18 years agoPlayed an opening (offline) game today and walked it with several birdies. Not sure if they make it easy to start with, or whether I'm just an awesome golfer!
It's the first golf game that I've played since Tiger Woods on the original Xbox, and I'm missing the ability to get a look at 'the whole of the hole' before I tee off (I know you can raise the camera up, but I'd like to get a better look at the green / bit of the fairway that I'm aiming for.
Also, is there any way to put a bit of backspin / topspin on the ball? Digital downloads are all very well, but I do miss having a manual. -

Cheers, thought I was going mad.
It's especially noticeable in the hub area. Stuck the PS3 incarnation on for comparison and think it actually looks nicer. -

Yea that course is pretty great. I have the 3rd and 4thunlocked but so far I think 2 is the best. -
