Heading off for a few weeks. I have an HTC One and she has an iPhone so was wondering what the best free option for cross platform video calling over wi-fi might be so I can speak to the kids and see them while I'm away/ I know of skype but wondered if anyone knew of anything else that might be better suited? She also has a laptop which might be better rather than the kids crowding round a tiny screen. Anyway, any thoughts or other solutions to consider? |
Cross platform video calling

Skype gets my vote. -
Noted! -
Any particular reason not to use Skype? It's very good. -
No reason at all, I've never used anything for video calling on my phone so just wanted to see what was the easiest/best. -

but seriously, you could try Google Hangouts too. Give them a spin before going, see what works best for you. -
Probably just use skype if it works, will take it for a test drive later. -

It's not so much loving Skype, as that being the thing that does what you want.
It's like asking if anyone has any recommendations for a tool to knock-in a nail. -
Not all hammers are created equally though. You don't want to buy a cheap hammer in case the head flies off and kills your cat.
