Hah! I can't really argue with any of your points. I guess I'm just easily impressed by fancy cinematography and 70's fx work.

Sadly, the whole film used to be on youtube for free, but it seems they've taken it down and put up an eight quid version instead :(

I think it would make a good mini-series. The mission to space, Reinhard trying to convince the crew of his idea, seeing how he reacts when they want to leave the edge of the black hole etc. Good concept, visually appealing, but there's a story struggling to get through.

Not least the narrative of Robert Forster's hair plugs, so wonderfully brought to a close in Jackie Brown.

I particularly like all the bum jokes they make about the gay medic, Witty. 'I'd rather have Witty treat my piles' etc.

It was alright in the 70s.

He's one of the two things I remembered about the film before I watched it. Given it was the 70s, I think - I hope - his character's heroism changed a few attitudes.

After nearly 40 years, I still want to beat the crap out of Richard Harris's son in the Wild Geese, he's wimpy and wet beyond words. Probably settled down with Witty in a cottage in Dorset.

Yeah, he's insufferably shit. I do like Witty's death, when he's practically wanking off over the 'black beauties' as he's shooting them, because gay.

Also, the hamfisted effort to be a bit progressive with Hardy Kruger and the black resistance leader guy eventually liking each other. They tried, bless 'em.

I'm a big fan of 70s Roger Moore ripping yarns. Shout at the Devil is pretty great as well (and has Sir Roger in blackface - hang on, the PC warning light in the corner of my eye has gone into overdrive).

I wonder if they made the child seem useless to highlight the fact he needs a father figure. When we ere watching it, Martyn called him the poshest boy in the world.

Listened to Robocop today - very poor quality around the 12-13min mark. :D

Pingu/Thing crossover had me in tears, ta for that, although I'm surprised there was no mention of the crazy OTT dick-shooting Robocop vid from a while ago.

Only found about the dick-shooting video after we did the RoboCop show. I think I mention it in a more recent recording that hasn't gone up yet.

Just started listening to these, the Robocop one was ace. By the way, I definitely think you guys should go back and watch Legend, the Tom Cruise masterpiece. If you thought the tone of Look Who's Talking is somewhat weird for the suggested age it is aimed at then Legend is the quintessential example of that.

Oh and I was listening to the American Werewolf in London episode and the opening scene before they walk into the Slaughtered Lamb was filmed in a place called Crickadarn in mid Wales. It isn't quite as creepy in real life but if you fancy going to a location and being a little freaked out it is still there and barely changed.
