| I still want one, but I don't want this one. Getting a Pebble Time sometimes soon which will tide my over until Apple inevitably release a significantly improved v2, which I'll probably get. |

Registered 16 years agoThat's the thing I can't see past though, I'm sure most people buying these want a Casio+tech rather than an Omega+ tech but they're not going to ever be in the correct price bracket to be a success. -

The absolutely idiotic thing is that your own (ripped from CD, bought on Bandcamp, whatever) music gets a magic "remove download" option as soon as you use Apple Music, and if you use that option (to save space, ot whatever), your files are *gone*. -

Registered 16 years agoI wore one for a couple of days a few weeks ago and really grew to like the look of it.
It's hugely personal but I think that's one aspect they got spot on. -

The price is about right. They're for Apple heads, and Apple heads spend over a grand on a laptop and not much less on a phone and a tablet. £300 for a watch is spot on. -

Registered 16 years agoWhich is ironic as that the model I've been looking at.
Basically.... every year our company does a load of staff incentives and discounted, salary sacrifice apple tech is part of it. You get a 5-15% discount on apple gear and the cost is spread out over 12 months with the deduction coming before tax, which makes it even cheaper.
So, it's a race against time. The scheme registration closes at the end of September, by which time I'm praying the v2 is out. -

Registered 15 years agoI do think they've got the pricing for the other models a bit wrong though. The mark-up for the steel version doesn't really seem worth it as the difference in the aesthetic is minimal, and the nice straps are stupidly expensive. And obviously the gold thing is just utterly ridiculous, and is the most un-Jobs like thing they've done since he died by a mile. -

Registered 15 years agoI'd say no chance of a V2 by September. We'd already know about it if that was happening. -
TBH, the only Apple thing which I'd buy again nowadays would be the MacBook. The phone and tablet market, Apple stuff just isn't 'better' enough anymore IMO. Sobering really, as I'm a long time fan.
What's the migration like from iOS to Android nowadays? Pretty much all of my music I listen to day to day was bought from iTunes... -

Registered 16 years agoWell, last year my iPad mini order got changed at the last minute thanks to it being announced at the end of the registration period, so I live in hope.
That also means the registration closed more like October not September and I'm shit with dates.

No, no, iTunes! -

Registered 18 years agoHaving thought about it I can understand where the problem lies. But surely a warning along the lines of
"If you delete the local files you might have to download them from the original source once you cancel your iTunes subscription"
or something would have been in order.
People saying Apple have switched from product focus to profit focus are looking more reasonable every passing week. -
@Tonka Yeah, that's exactly it. Like I said above, if you click "delete", you get a pop-up window, and the files are revoerable as long as you don't empty your waste basket.
"Remove download" just erases them from your hdd with a single click. -

Registered 10 years agoI'm an Apple head, and I quite like my Apple Watch. It's nice, but that's it. I can't yet see it becoming an indispensable part of my life like my iPhone.
Instead of "Apple Watch", they should have called it iPod. Relaunched that entire product line. Redefine what an iPod is. 'Cause Apple Watch is basically an iPod nano with a wristband. Has some apps, can play music (via BT headphones), even has a heart rate monitor and distance tracker. Perfect for jogging or other self-flagellating activities.

Registered 16 years agoIn my mind they miss out the main reason why these are failing.
They are limited to those people with an iphone (5S?) and upwards. No Android, no windows phone, no iphone 5c/4 etc.
So the market for these things is already minimised. -
Flopping in what context? Analysts numbers or Apples own numbers? Anyway getting mine Wednesday but Sport version. Other models are ridiculous price wise
