    \o

Share your stories of pain and suffering at the right hands of society, and prepare for the day where our hands clench into fists, and we beat everyone up because they don't know how to fight against southpaws.

Or we could just recount stories about games and other things that do not make attempt to accommodate our handedness. That works too.

I had it taught out of me in school.

I remember when my folks worried that it would be my left-handedness which would get me bullied in school ;)

You didn't have it- rightly- beaten out of you PES?

    (the left handedness).

No, because Canadian education systems in the 80s weren't a hundred years behind the times like they seem to have been in the UK...

    Very droll

Pretty sure ambidextrous means that you are more or less equally proficient with either hand for those tasks. I am naturally a leftie, but when it comes to playing games, batting in cricket, or playing drums, I use whatever hand configuration I learned it with. Which is often right-handed.
  • Deleted user 16 September 2014 07:33:38
I don't think that's totally weird Deebs, I play guitar (badly) and play golf (even more badly) righty. That's probably due more to the economics of the thing, lefty flip clubs and axes are harder to come across and / or more expensive.

But I think being sinistra means you can lend yourself more to ambisextrousity.

That's similar to how I've ended up, write with my right, tennis with my left, watch on the right wrist, left footed. It turned out to be quite handy for work in a way, I'm just as strong with both hands.

AND SOME OF US HAVE TO USE BOTH HANDS, RIGHT ELS?

I'm right handed but hold my fork in my right hand. That has always made total sense to me- it's my "doing things" hand. But, almost without exception, whenever I eat with other right handed people they hold their forks in the left hand and cut with the right.
It's something that has made me feel different all of my life and the main reason why I'm digging a pit in my basement and stocking up on lotion.

I eat left handed as well but only because it just feels better. Always have.

I write with my left hand otherwise am right handed and footed. But because writing is a big part of school I've always thought of myself as left handed.

I think the term is weak right / left handed. Bit of a depressing name.

    All left, except mouse usage.

Write left handed and left handed for one handed sports such as tennis and squash, right handed for two handed sports like golf and cricket.

Glad cheque books are a relic of the past, bastard things.

Leftie here as well. Haven't gotten any sh*t from it ever, other than the remarks when someone notices it.
Only "problem" that I can think of, was in school when my hand messed up the text the same time when I wrote. Until I learned to use an additional paper as a shield. :p
    I actually like being a leftie. :)

    /cack handed

Write with right (which is right), cut with left, open bottles with left... Screwdriver with whichever is most convenient at the time.

    Left-footed.

My daughters, both right handed, use knives left/forks right. I'm trying to get them to stop though. It's incorrect etiquette you know. Quite.
