Frozen Wilds is one of the best DLC’s I have ever played - a must for when you guys finish.

I heard the Frozen Wilds DLC was great so picked it up in a PSN sale awhile back, it's sat waiting in my quest to-do list. Probably be another 15 months when I get to that!

I do really like Winter themed environments in games, not sure what is but I've always enjoyed spending time exploring in those settings. Looking forward to seeing how it looks in full HDR glory, the lighting in this game is incredible.

That's my plan, getting into it around the winter. Sitting in a cozy room when it's dark, slatting it down / snowing would be great. By the time I finish this, have a good crack at God of War and Spiderman, it'll be about that time. Will definitely need a break from Horizon. Don't feel burned out but it'll be good to do back down the line. Skyrim's usually my go to during the winter. There's just such a cozy feeling playing that. And it looks amazing with mods on the PC.

Completed the Maker's End quest last night and got a decent slice of story, feels like it's starting to pick up nicely.

It's starting to get a bit challenging with some of the robots taking a lot of damage to finish off, should probably get around to checking what difficulty I'm on as they feel a bit spongy. The human enemies in comparison are just in the way.

Trying to think how far through that is.

What kind of robots are you fighting at the moment?

Are you also scanning robots to detect their weakness and then using the appropriate arrows/attacks to fill up the meter by hitting them repeatedly?

@quadfather A lot of Corruptors lately, I find that they've got a big chunk of health left after I've rinsed them with whatever they're weak to and removed all their components, just seem to absorb loads of damage.

Ah right, yeah, corrupters are a bit of a pain. Can't override them either, the cheating fucks.

I find a lot of tearblast arrows useful at first (mainly because I LOVE the noise they make!) to remove components and then wade in with a bit of melee.

Have you got your spear upgraded from a low level quest and also got any melee related skills?

I really must get back on this - I've only just started the DLC after finishing the main game ages ago.

Use something with strong tear, like those BWAAAAAAAAAAAM arrows, to shoot off its weapons and then pepper it with fire arrows and fire bombs from the slingshot.

Everything corrupted is super weak to fire.

I'm going to have to load it up again, just to hear the tearblast arrow noise again.

Yeah I'm abusing the tearblast arrows they're quality, that sound and seeing the parts fly off is very satisfying. Will use more fire arrows and see how I get on.

I think I've done that mission and got the damage upgrade, just got the level 2 spear ability. I've tried to level all my abilities evenly so everything is around level 2 at the moment.

That's cool then - it's just that you can miss that level 2 spear upgrade quest. You're sorted for a while now.

One invaluable skill is the tinkerer that lets you swap mods in and out of armour and weapons - saves wasting shit loads of stuff.

I'm quite glad I played it so long ago, as it'll feel fresher going back to it again.

I just need to work out which game is next after God of War. So many to choose from!

Is that the tit you have to fight while all hell is breaking loose, and he takes about 150 headshots to drop?

Yeah it's the Faro mission, the one with the aptly named Deathbringer at the end.

Yeah, remember that one. I quite like fighting Deathbringers.

Oh, hang on - the faro bloke - is that in a kinda weird low level basin where you start at the top and he's down at the bottom? Is it that one?

I might be getting confused with something else.

I'm not sure, this mission had the Deathbringer fight at the end and then you scale the old Faro tower to an office at the top, once you're there there's a fair bit of story revealed through a number of holograms.

Is there anywhere to buy the bits needed for crafting? Specifically animal meat and bones.

Really need more inventory space as it's always full, I'm constantly having to dismantle stuff.

I remember having to hunt for them. I took an hour out of killing robots and did all the inventory quest/animal tasks. It's quite nice shooting fish in hdr :)

Don't forget you can sell a hell of a lot of shit - check what the meridian merchants are selling, keep those resources and just sell the rest. Along with all the crap you've picked up on the way

    @quadfather I've just done exactly that :)

Doubled my inventory and dramatically thinned out the number of boar. I was thinking it was a pain in the ass having to go hunting but turned out to be a nice way to spend an hour.

Yeah you need to offload those 350 lenses that you're never going to use now and again and the 100 stacks of rabbit pelts/whatever

Yeah, it's quite nice to switch off and just chill for an hour collecting what you need.

Yup, definitely going to have to fire this up again

With the corrupters, just hit them with fire arrows until the overheat. When they overheat, a week point becomes exposed and then aim for that with a charged arrow from a high damage now.

Nothing special but here's a small scrap I had with a couple of Snapmaws last night. I love the combat in this game, it's fucking brilliant.

I found it quite difficult without a target lock on but you soon get used to it.

It really is a great game. I out off buying it for ages thinking it would be the same old generic rubbish but was pleasantly surprised. DLC is great as well. Some of the new enemies introduced can be quite tough.

I love using the corruption arrows on the bots and hiding in the grass/snow ;)
