I used to use override on absolutely everything I could, and then corruption arrows on the humans. There's just something about causing havoc that makes me smile inside ![]() It's even worse in Skyrim - no matter what build I attempt, it always ends up using a fuck ton of illusion spells to cause extreme rumbles Love it. |

Registered 15 years agoI used to override the biggest robot I could see and then watch as chaos ensued. Think the only robot I never managed to override was a Stormbird but then they were usually on their own anyway. -

Registered 11 years agoI didn't do the last cauldron so I couldn't override the thunderjaw, but I really like fighting them anyway. I should go back and do the cauldron though I guess. -

Registered 7 years agoI need to go and do some Cauldrons. I've not stumbled into any since the first one so can only override the smaller robots. -

Registered 7 years agoI'm assuming they appear on the map? I'll have to have a look and make a point of heading for one. I've tried playing it without using the map as much as possible, find it more fun and rewarding just exploring and stumbling upon stuff. -

Mmm, you know, I honestly can't remember. The first one is via a quest in a settlement early on and she just gives you rough directions.
I'm struggling to think how the others appear - whether you stumble onto them or not. Pretty sure I stumbled onto the 2nd one, but it's been a while -

Registered 12 years agoThey do appear on the map, I think when you unlock that region's tallneck.
Fought my first thunderjaw yesterday. That was fun
knocked all his components off with the old BWAOOOOOWM arrows first. -

Registered 7 years agoAlright, made my way to another Cauldron tonight and it's full of bandits or whatever those cultist dicks are called. It's a bit shit in comparison to the first one, hope the others are better. -

Registered 15 years agoThere is one in the DLC if I remember correctly that is full of groups of some of the hardest enemies in the game. I finished all the cauldrons just to be able to override everything. -

It's not the best cauldron, but you can pick up the machine gun that the heavy guys drop. Now that's fun. -

Registered 7 years agoThat's true, the heavy machine gun does tear through them. It wasn't awful, I just don't find fighting the human enemies that fun and wasn't expecting a Cauldron to be filled with them. -

I felt the same when I encountered it. I get it that it's a useful area to hang (that's where I'd go as a bandit) but I prefer the mystery of the cauldrons in general as they are -

Registered 7 years agoI'm at the end and got to fight a deathbrimger again. I can't remember having this much trouble last time but you got some powerful guns in the arena. Struggling this time. I'm level 32 so don't think I'm underpowered? This and the last fight really started to get on my tits. -

I used the cover of the rocks on the perimeter, used lots of tearblasts, and kept circling it, if that helps -

Registered 7 years ago@quadfather Ah, figures. Never used that, haven't even got a tearblaster. I went all in on the 'savages use fire arrows. Earlier save here I come. -

Ah, you might find it's very useful against pure robots. You know where it opens up slightly and there are some type of cylindrical bits that show? (It's been a while since I played so I'm a bit vague) - tesrblast though fuckers to cripple it -

Registered 7 years ago@quadfather cheers mate. Yeah just got a bow that uses tear blast arrows and it's made hunting (Got to do some hunting missions to get the weapon) a hell of a lot easier.
Doing this makes me want to do more of the hi ting when the games finished. I'll definitely come back to it when I come to start the dlc

Tearblast is your best friend. I never leave home without it.
Yeah, I need to get stuck into the dlc too -

Registered 11 years agoAnd I stuck the dlc on after months of not playing it. Took a while to get reacquainted with it all but fully back in the swing doing the dlc now. It's really good. Just fought my first frostclaw. Jesus. Glad I had some high ground or I'd have been fucked.
There seems to be new stuff to acquire that's better than my current gear too, so another thing to add to the list.
Also, while the graphics are great and shiny as we all know, I was paying particular attention to the sound - it's fucking amazing when you force it in to Atmos/DTS X mode. Recommended -

Registered 7 years ago@quadfather I bumped it down to medium after getting about half way through on hard, don't want to pussy out any further.
I've upgraded all my attack stuff and am level 30, got that fun but I can't get in close enough. I think it's just trying to get it to overheat and nail it with the hard arrows and tear arrows.its just fucking relentless!
Give it some time to bed in, bork. I found it a bit of a slog but it'll get it's hooks in eventually.
