    Yes it does!

My local butcher sell some really excellent pork based burgers tyvm. :p
I bet he binds it together with eggs and/or breadcrumbs like some kind of pervert.

McDonald's do an excellent pork patty, it's a bit like a round square sausage, served in a wholesome muffin along with a righteous portion of egg product and a slice of authentic American cheese approximation.

I bloody love it, i challenge anyone to not enjoy a sausage and egg mcmuffin.

Ho ho on the goose fat, very topical.

@quadfather do you really put butter on a burger bun?
I prefer it yeah - depends how good the bun is really - it's all crap bread up here :)

Well I live near there but I'm not very northern

I can never seem to find the right consistency of the bread - it either falls apart (bk) or it's too stodgy (maccies).

In fact I might think of some other breaded product to use

If you've got an Aldi near you, they started to do brioche buns a while ago and they're ok too, also cheap.

Nope. Good quality meat and the right amount of fat to bind it. It's not my fault you live in an area with a below par butchers. Next you'll be saying you don't eat pork because pigs are filthy animals!

I had a shit one in Lanzarote, don't ask. It was literally a burger in a bun. Nothing else. No sauce or cheese or salad or bacon or relish or onions or fries.

    Rank.

moot is right actually, pork can make a decent patty, use some belly, use some loin and it'll be good - doesn't need any binding either if your pan is hot enough. This is really one for the other thread though. I would hate to be labelled with the ponce tag for having an opinion on food.

They also do some really good mince if you like it lean, though it isn't their lean mince. Their lean mince isn't as lean as their standard mince. Not sure if it'll be the same Nationwide though, it's marked as Scottish so maybe each store sources locally? I assume they'll have the same standard in all their stores though.

I agree with that, they do some ok beef in there now. Burgers are better with some fat in them though, so they naturally baste themselves and stay juicy.

Yeah, I prefer getting normal mince as opposed to lean for the majority of what I cook - needs a bit of fat

Maccy D's is quality if you are on a lunchbreak or fancy a quick, cheap bite to eat. You can get a "meal" for around a fiver - so whats not to love?

If you fancy a step up and want to actually taste something then go to Burger KIng, it's a step up in price but also a step up in tatse - you get what you pay for.

If however, you specifically really want a good burger - then you seek out a restaurant or diner and don't worry that it will cost up to £20.00 with extras because that is specifically what you want!

    End of fucking discussion!!!!

Also, as an aside I have come to realise KFC use the worst bread imaginable on their chicken burgers. It is technically stale and literally crumbles into dust when you try eat your fucking ZInger burger. They are shite, but at least they have improved their fries ten fold. But for this reason alone I would place KFC at 3rd place below urger King then Maccy D's.

That's the thing - at Aldi, their lean isn't lean so is better for burgers. Their normal stuff is way more lean, so not as good for burgers hence me mentioning it in this thread. Good for a Shepards Pie though.
