Whenever I connect my iPod to my PC via USB 2.0, I get a message on the bottom of my screen telling me that the USB hardware device was not recognised. What do I do?

    Fresh problems for me :(

I recently replaced my iPod battery manually and now whenever I turn it on I get a picture of a folder with an exclamation mark next to it coming up on screen. My iPod was working perfectly fine before I changed the battery, is there something I could have done wrong while changing it?

Lots and by the sound of it you did.

Most consumer electronics is not user servicable this is why. Time to buy a new one.

Did you charge the new battery you put in via the firewire thingy and the plug adaptor?

This happened to me as well about a week after Id got it for Xmas.

    Look at this

This is to erase your Ipod

A Hard Reset as WOPR suggested did the trick for me :)
