Not even completed the 1st mission but I think finding out it has a manual save and not just checkpoint saves might help especially when things go really bad when testing things out.
Brilliant game and series. I bought the complete edition with all the dlc. What are you playing it on...it is co-op you know ?

Alongside Resident Evil 2 I've added Donut County to my current now playing list

As a new dad having a bright, cheerful, tuneful, fun to play game that can be played one handed is such a good thing.

Plus it's a very entertaining game

Iím getting near the end of my wick with divinity original sin 2 on Xbox. The starter area is just soooo boring and long. I remember my time with the first spanning about 30 hours in the starter area and that was just about manageable. But this is really testing my patience. Iím out of the fort but whichever way I turn I run into challenging combat thatís just a bit unfair. The story just isnít getting going, not sure if I can rough it out tbh, prefer the first so far.

@ChiefGB I definitely found it tougher than the first, I had many a party wipe on Normal difficulty and yes it felt completely unfair at times but in hindsight I was just not playing it well enough. You really need to use all the tools at your disposal. I found extensive use of charm arrows/potions and the combination of the teleport and chicken spells made things much easier. Also, effectively pre-positioning your party before each encounter is a must.

The game is also MASSIVE. I got to the end of the second map after around 60 hours or so, at which point I felt like I'd had my fill of it and stopped playing. Doubt I'll go back and finish it, but I mostly really enjoyed my time with it. I can appreciate it's an excellent game, but Wasteland 2 and Tides of Numenera remain my favourite old-school RPGs of recent years.

Still chugging away at Xenoblade Chronicles on my Wii and Valkyria Chronicles PS3. I got over my boss blockages in both games so I'm on my way to Prison Island in XB1 and in the middle of chapter 15 of VC1.

RDR 2. 2 weeks of pumping hours in and story only 30% complete, overall 45%.

So much time wasted travelling, survival elements and clearing bounties caused by the fucking main missions.

Beautiful but full of shit design decisions. Onward

@Gunzberg Not too far away from my feelings, however the story does get pretty great later on.

Rockstar need a complete refresh before their next game because some of the shit design in RDR2 goes all the way back to GTA3. The travelling between quest markers in the final act becomes deeply egregious and the lack of proper fast travel is just a pain. I did find that I got to a point where everything outside of the main quest became redundant pretty quickly, I finished with a TON of cash and nothing to really spend it on (after fully upgrading the camp)

I've been dipping my oily fingers into Mortal Kombat XL and The DIvision seeing as how respective sequels are out soon and I remembered I enjoyed the previous incarnations. Just seeing if either tickles me enough to jump on their newies. I reckon MK11 is a must as I do love me a bit of MK. The Divison 2 can wait a bit though. I love The Division but I'm happy fannying about in end game here for a bit first. These games always need months of tweaks / patches etc so I'll hold off for a bit.

    Great stuff.

Eh, what else... I've got Red Dead 2 on the go. About halfway through. I should love it but I somehow really can't be fucked with it. Maybe just my mindset just now. It's beautiful and all westerny and if I remember right my Arthur had quite the beard coming on. So I should probably get back to it. Ah no wait I shaved him. Fuck it.

I had a bit of an issue with it for similar reasons - I was clearly under-levelled for the encounters after the fort. I recall this happened in the first one as well though - there was one early battle that I must have played 20 times before I was lucky enough to win it. Later on it was fine.

Must go back to it again. I was also slightly put off by people saying that you should go all physical damage or all magic. I like to mix it up.

You can mix it up fine. It is easier to specialise but not in the slightest bit necessary.

Dirt 4 (PC) - absolute digital crack. It becomes dull after a while and I don't like certain races (i.e. those strange looking "carts"), yet I still keep coming back for "just one more go". 45 hours spent so far, I doubt I ever invested more hours into ANY racing game.

    Fallout 76 (Cheers again drhcnip).

    I'm not "not" enjoying it.
In a Fallout game I like to potter about at my own pace, minding my own business, ignoring the story, exploring and essentially tidying up the wasteland by recycling one piece of junk at a time. Occasionally I go out and kill some things.
It's a timewasting and unwinding kind of game for me.

Fallout 76 is providing that for the most part.
Then other people show up, shoot you, try to get you to join group and jump around like tits when you just want to read the notes and terminals.

Maybe it's because it was free and expectations were so so so low. Saying that I am only 5 or 6 hours in so that could change.
More Super Duper Mart cola than Nuka.

Still plugging away at Spider-Man, just started chapter 3 but it's starting to outstay its welcome now. I would have been happy with it finishing at the end of 2. Gameplay has remained largely static for the last 10+ hours because I've unlocked most of the abilities.

I'm about to face Ganon in Zelda Windwaker. I never got past the triforce hunt back in the day.

Quite an enjoyable game, better than I remember, but there is quite a bit of padding. Thank god they changed the triforce hunt.

    @MouthOfSauron Now reached Chapter 4 with Saint-Denis.

I am really tired of spending hours on this every night with no progress seemingly achieved. Going to just do all main missions now and deal with all the side content later.

Going down the leafy entranceway with the posse to burn down the Braithwaite Manor was so far the only highlight of the game. That had an atmosphere.

Also, why does the game allow me to sell individual cigarette cards but then remove them from my "picked up list". Now I need to go around picking them all up again to complete the damn side quest. Or in Saint-Denis, there is one card on a table in garden in a house. You go in, you get $15 trespassing bounty. So I run out but then 4 cops show up and shoot me down. Dead. Lost cash. Frustration. Nothing is ever simple or player friendly in this game.

    Onward....

I hit Chapter 4 Saint-Denis about a month ago and haven't been back since. Just got a bit burned out with it all.

I'll revisit as I was enjoying it, but I stopped for similar reasons. Think I must've played it for 50+ hours and only hit Ch 4...

Turok 2 Remastered is actually fun now. I'm impressed. Being able to pull headshots, see interactive items and warp between portals is making all the difference.

    @Tomo

    Same.

I think Saint-Denis is the point where the game reveals its limitations. By that point I had around a thousand dollars available to me and nothing to spend it on.

The city gave me a load of quest lines to follow but none of them felt engaging.

Near constant ambushes from squads of men with Gatling guns meant that I as almost constantly moments away from death.

As beautiful as the world is, and as much as I like some of the characters, the game just wasn't very fun any more and I'm dragging my heels at going back to it.

I just reached Saint-Denis yesterday and I'm really torn whether to push through with the game or park it for a while and get back into The Witcher 3, Bloodborne or Hitman for a change of pace. I have next week off work so I want to get stuck into something and worry I'll get burnt out on RDR2, even though I've mostly enjoyed it too this point.

Heh. I did pretty much the same with Witcher 3 too. Absolutely loved it but after 80 hours or so I got burned out and haven't played it for a year or so. I keep meaning to go back but it's been so long I fear I've forgotten everything :x

Saint Denis was the worst part of the game I thought and quite a slog to get through. The remainder of the game from then was much more focussed.

That's funny as I parked it at Saint Denis back in November or so and have't been back since. I was really enjoying it and I still feel like I've barely scratched the surface of the game. Just can't seem to be bothered going back.

    Darksiders 2 port (xbox one)

While I like the game, its shitty port, its not even a good remaster. Xbox one has bad frame rate even at certain times when there is no enemies on screen, also bugs & glitches from the last gen versions. Still has exploits to get all the items from the shops still and loads more.

But they changed the difficulty balance but making the AI do more damage even on normal and even weapon drops for ones that drain life to you. Which is cheap and lazy. The game could of done with a tidy up but they took something that was fine and fucked with it and ignored other problems.

Its a gamepass game, so I wouldn't buy it but I like the loot expect of the game with the weapons you can build and the gameplay is still fun when the engine is not crapping itself

Home with a cold/virus today and finished Homefront Revolution.

Played it on Xbox X and it had some stunning graphics and lighting in places. The developers did a good job of requiring you to use 'hit and run' guerrila tactics, and then when you committ nough sabotage, the streets riot and it becomes a fairly fun 'run and gun' FPS.

Aso the RC car with explosives/hacking never got old.

Fairly solid game I thouht, although I hear it was pretty rough on release, I would recommend it. Kind of like an urban Far Cry (better than Far Cry 5). Solid 8/10.
