Is there any way to quickly change the filetype of audio?

I don't know anything about all this encoding malarky, but I want to change some wma files in to mp3s. Is there a free program that lets me do this easily?

I would suggest CDex but I don't think it can convert WMA files unfortunetly. However, I suppose you could just Google for "WMA to MP3 converters" or something, that usually works quite good.

dbPowerAmp has been mentioned on here a few times. IIRC its free and does conversions.

Does the job very well actually. It's got a very easy interface as well.

It's got a nice feature that adds right-click contextual functions so you can just right-click on a file and ask Power Amp to convert it, rather than boot the program up and what not.

I have CDex, and I *think* it does do WMAs. But I can't be arsed to check.

And some of those converter progs spray their shit all over your hard drive, making it solid to get rid of.
