    Pixar is making 'Toy Story 4'

    A part of me is happy about this news, mainly because I still enjoy seeing the gang in those short films (before the main feature begins) however, when you have a perfect ending like the one in Toy Story 3 whereby we, the audience, were Andy driving away from the toys sitting on the front porch, then it does have a sense of, 'why bother?'.

    Anyone else happy (or not-so-happy) at the return of the Woody, Buzz and co.?

    ... with Andy gone, I wonder where the story plays out from here onwards.

    What about the one that's coming out this Christmas, doesn't that feature Woody and Buzz?

    \o/

    Love the TS trilogy and very excited about taking the kids to this - 4 yo in particular is TS crazy. Buzz is the best thing ever.

    @monkman - that's a short more than a movie. 20 mins long.

    Also, the way the title is phrased makes it sound like Woody's last name is also Lightyear. Are they brothers or something?

    @MrTomFTW

    You didn't see the 'uncut' version of Toy Story 3 then, Mr. Tom?

    ... shall I also edit my opening post if you are finally telling that four year old child off for good?

    I enjoy the Toy Story films. If it's as good as the last one, go for it.

    If it's not, meh, still go for it. I can just ignore it if it's crap.

    I don't think i want another one. All three were really good. My favorite being number one but number 3 was very emotional in a couplw of places. They ended it really well great script and i feel now perhaps they're rinsing it.

    I felt the 3rd was sufficient and a good place to end. But it's the kind of thing I'd love to take my future child to see (obviously not going to stop at a 4th).

    Disney can't wait to get Star Wars and Marvel toys in there.

    Ha! That's a good shout actually. Wonder if Woody will run into a stormtrooper or iron man toy.

    That's not a problem per se - as long as it's not overkill. Real life toys have always featured.

    3 was brilliant, one of my favoutite films. The shorts have been good though and indicated there are still good stories with Bonnie. (See how invested I am in this shit, kids eh! That's what I tell myself)

    Oh no you're right, I don't mind if a stormtrooper joins the gang at all. Obviously if it becomes overbearing that's different, but I'd be surprised if they did.

    Yeah the shorts are pretty decent, watched that Toy Story of Terror one at Christmas or whenever it was on.

    Although the 3 of them formed a perfect trilogy I'm quite happy about this announcement. My young un is absolutely bat shit crazy for Woody and Buzz so I'll be excited to take him to the cinema to see this.

    Hope we see some more of Ken. My favourite character by a mile.

    If they do include star wars toys (likely because: Disney) they should get the robot chicken crowd to voice them...
  • Deleted user 7 November 2014 15:08:21
    Or the original cast of Star Wars...

    @Physically_Insane I did think that, but wonder if they would be a bit too serious or not willing to do silly caricatures of the characters... But I guess they may be as happy to take the piss as the robot chicken guys, it's just down the the writers... I do like the Ken character in the last film and always saw him as quite robot chicken-esc in style at times anyway so the toy story's writers can get that vibe anyway (although I'm sure keaton also had a lot to do with bringing it to life so well!)
