Yet it is so much better. Bvs was total shite, I felt sorry for my kids who are big fans. They had to sit through that bore fest.

You know, I agree story is important but with action movies (which superhero movies are a part of) they are not as important.

BvS 'story' was just a mess and at points i was quietly begging the movie to end, but that all went out the window the second batman started being batman.

The story of an action film is just as important as any other movie otherwise its just a bunch of bullshit with fight scenes of varying competency.

I mean to say, its not like you need or want The Conversation every time but even a simple story needs to be well told. Take John Wick. I think we can all agree that its a pretty good action movie.

The story is: The cunt from game of thrones kills the most dangerous man alives dog.

Thats it. We know why Keanu loves the dog. We know why everyone is shitting themselves about his dog getting killed and we know why he kills every last motherfucking one of them.

All characters are well established, all motivations are clear and we have a very definitive beginning middle and end.

Its a well told story for all of the action scenes to hang from.

Compare and contrast with BvS. Is it an action film? Theres a lot of action scenes in it, but they are vastly outweighed by people wandering around talking shit to each other for no discernable reason.

I don't think we are disagreeing with each other here as much as you think, John Wick had a story - yes, it was well rounded but it was not something akin to the imitation game. From what i can tell it story that pushed action forward (from what i have read, my missus won't watch it cos a dog dies).

I think the biggest problem with BvS is they tried sticking a convoluted and admittedly shit story into what should have been explainable in 1 line as you were able to do above.

It felt as though they were trying to make, well to be honest I cant decide what they were trying to make but it didnt work, something more than just an action movie and failed miserably.

Watch it by yourself then, you fanny
  • Deleted user 10 August 2016 15:55:32
    Is it good enough?

When i have time to myself i generally ask myself what i am going to do. There are a few programs my missus doesn't like (such as blacklist) that i would rather watch than play a video game but there are many others (like chuck) that i don't care enough about to watch over playing a game. Usually films fall into the meh category (due to their length).

Sure. I like it. I'm looking forward to the sequel.
If you like well choreographed action films it'll be up your street. It knows exactly what it is and executes (hehe!) it with finesse.

So, looks like someone may have 'copied' a few design ideas from some band (watch the actual comparison):

Why did they include a still of Marilyn Manson in there? I do hope it wasn't 'Ninja' ripping off his look

Probably a reference to the fact that people are also saying he ripped off his look in this:

Manson has appeared in videos with them so I think he's ok with them ripping him off.

Apparently this lot were invited to the premier, and went, so I'm not sure why they're upset as they were obviously aware of the 'inspiration'.

yes David Ayer u jockin our style. callin ninja up before your movie came our pretendin 2b down, so it looks OK when u bite our black & white graf style & our opening sequence to umshiniwam & an all da lil tiny details u nibbeld dat other people wont see but we notice. Cara & Jared told us how much u were talkin abt us on set but u never asked our permision to rip us off. An when ninja texted u sayin wassup wif dat u said nothin like a scared lil bitch. U were jus flauntin our names pretendin to b down. u aint down an u never will b. but before we knew da extent of ur two face nature - u invited us to ur movie premiere(which i didnt wanna go to) but ninja went , tinkin ur solid guy an mayb there was jus a lil "misunderstandin". Den poor ninja had to sit thru dat hole bullshit movie. An u even got da nerve to say wassup to him smilin - an ninja has to b nice cus he is there wif his kid. But we all tink u wack. U shud start a crew called:,"im a fake fuck" ask kanye if he wants to join u. Cum show ur pretty face at my studios. U know Muggs & u know where da Soul Assasin Studios at. we watin for u.

Just back from it. Bloody abysmal. Hilarious CGI. Acting piss-poor except from Viola Davis and Cap Boomerang.

How much money was wasted on this again?

So I just got back from watching this too...

I enjoyed it for being mildly entertaining for its 100ish minute run time, but nothing more.

It was clearly fucked up by poor editing. The soundtrack was a poor attempt to mimick the success of the Gaurdian's soundtrack style. Except it lacked any artistry in how the tracks where overlayed.

The plot was far from excellent/intriguing, but wasn't diabolical. Typical base shit is going down, time to sort shit out sort of thing. The film seemed to want to explore the idea that criminals are human despite their decision making, but the recut mishmash that was screened ruined what could have been a nice theme.

Then there are some very questionable scenes what was the point of the vat scene? Wasn't the chemicals boiling hot? Was left very confused by the inclusion of that scene.

The brother and spell was killed/destroyed by a couple of small bombs what was the need for the suicide squad? Just send a large missile in from a jet...

Boomarang needed some character development for christ sake. He was great, but I really failed to understand his decision making or why he had 3 life sentances for a diamond robbery...

Edit: the action scenes were fairly dull. I didn't feel the slightet bit of suspense throughout the film.

I think I preferred B vs S (which I only watched last night). Had better characterisation, though the action was just as boring...

Interesting reactions to this one. I wouldn't exactly consider him a good movie critic (he's better at games), but Angry Joe's video on Suicide Squad is interesting.

He is a huge Superman fanboy, wants to love everything Superman is in, yet thought Suicide Squad was a great, enjoyable movie and vastly superior to BvS. His band of merry men seemed to agree?

The critics seem to hate it, as many do here, and you're all probably right, but I can't deny, I'm curious to see it.

Do you think he comes by that honestly via foetal alcohol syndrome or some other type of mental impairment, or is it just trying to be down with the kids?

    Agree with this. ^
I think that's the only scene that nearly everybody can agree that they liked/thought was the best (depending on your views of the film).
