15 in the back pocket though, not to be sniffed at.

No I called up looking for an offer less than 83 (as an existing customer) for the 200MB "Gamer" package

@Carlo dunno if I'd call that a huge deal (minus the waiving the hub cost / giving you 15 quid), that's the same price you'd pay as a new customer for 200mb and a phone line.

Will the gamer package make me better at gamez?

@monkehhh Well, that was my target TBH. I only wanted them to match the offer they give new customers.

They beat it by 30 (888 over the term). Not much I grant you, but considering they wanted 83pm (1,494 total) before I called them up, I'd consider it a decent price

I'm getting 53 down 3 up and 8ms ping to the Speedtest server at the moment.

Don't know who hosts servers for EA, Sony, MS etc.

Don't know much about that. Will it make dark souls easier?

    .
I don't know about that, but I used to like 3 up 2 down with Michael Elphick.

You're not a very smart person, user Carlo. That gamer package is overpriced dross. If you're in the habit of just throwing money away, give it to a damn charity.

@Carlo fair enough, new customers do get it better than others usually.

That was great! Well, it seemed so in the 80s. Everything was good then

Ignoring the dickish harshness in the message, isn't that package meant to be for Twitchers and YouTubers with the 20Mb upstream vs. the usual 2Mb?

User Carlo is well known for sharing live video of his junk on Twitch. Now we get to answer the question "is it supposed to have a rash" in HD.

You get 10 on the standard packages not 2.

@Decks I'm on a standard package and I don't get anything like 10. FRAUD ACTIONS!

Always a hint of that in The Good Life, too.

I watched that British sitcom, user Alastair. It's the best one (not stellar competition) from that time frame I've watched but it's tremendously sad.

Also: why does the 'gamer' package come with a router? Sure, the nerds will need a cable modem, but don't the true 1337 buy their own, high performance routers?

From both sides I would say.
I'm sure Margot wanted a bit of rough. And who could resist Felicity Kendall!!

Bit ironic, but this thread has convinced me to move away from Virgin after prompting me to look into other market offers.

Vodafone have a bit of a good deal for just net at the moment.

It's overpriced? Can you explain? Are you comparing it to something else, or just generally for the UK maybe?

I don't think I ever really watched it, user PES_Fanboy.
As a Canadian I'd have thought you'd have been hooked on Degrassi Junior High.

Que? I'm a VM cable customer. Just ran a speed test and I'm getting 75 down and 5 up. Not as low as the 2 I thought I had, but still less than the 20 up you get on the supadoopa connection.
  • Deleted user 2 September 2016 11:44:10
True story, I'm the only Canadian born in the late 70s to never have been in DeGrassi.

Of course I watched that, at the time, user Alastair. But I went on a YouTube rampage watching 80s British TV a while back, and if anything I came away from that experience with more questions than I had at the start

It would be a waste if those questions didn't form the basis of a new thread.
