My teeth really aren't as white as i'd like them to be, probably down to my constant stream of black tea and roll ups! Has anyone tried any teeth whitening thingies that actually work? I saw something for Clearwhite on the telly but i think it's a bit expensive, and i tend not to trust these types of products.

My dentist (commercial leech-sucking gits that they are) got me to try that stuff that fits in a gumshield...

    1) It doesn't work
    2) It tastes like shit
    3) You wear it while you sleep. If you sleep on your back you'll choke to death practically...

Best thing to do, buy a bottle of tippex!

There's two types of whitenting product, one works well, one works badly, but unfortunately the former is not very good for your teeth.

The former uses harsh abrasive chemicals that literally strip a layer off your teeth, leaving them white underneath.

The other type merely dyes your teeth white.

    +1

And stop smoking FFS! Imagine what your lungs look like if you teeth (That you can blush clean) are not that white.

    Seriously...

Dentists aren't much help, unless you want to fork out at least £200+ for having your teeth bleached. The hygienist can shift the stains though.

I've tried Rapid White, which was a colossal pain in the arse to use. You have to dab the bleach onto your teeth, but make sure your lips don't touch your teeth or the stuff gets wiped off, then put some gel on a mouthguard and keep it in your gob for 10 minutes. Did it work? Did it bollocks. I gave up and realised that even I'm not vain enough to put that much effort in.

Well call me a plonker, but i am going to try Cleverwhite!
I want a bright smile in 5 days dammit!
I may give an update each day on the huge improvement that i will be witnessing. In case i can't be bothered, this will probably suffice:

    Day 1: .......................no change.
    Day 2: .......................no change.
    Day 3: .......................no change.
    Day 4: .......................no change.
    Day 5: .......................no change.

    overall improvement noted: ...none.
    money well spent?.............Probably not!

Never been to a hygenist? Does that make me dirty? What do they do? Would my dentist pass me on to someone? How much are we taking about? and more importantly, is it worth it?

I remember when they took a mould for my retainer, now that is about the freshest my mouth has felt or looked. So just get some putty, wet in water, apply to your teeth and wait...once it's hardned remove and hopefully only one or two teeth will come with it. Still, it'll feel great!

I got myself the cheapo boots teeth whitening kit. It seemed to work, it's just I rarely get round to using it, it's quite a hassle to use you see.

Most dental surgeries have hygenists in the UK.

Provided, that is, your teeth were actually white to start with.

There's an EU warning about using Bleech based whiteners.

I'll link to it in a sec.

Which one was that? Just curious because I bought one for £50 (it was the best one at the time) it was amazing for the first week but then I felt it could be cleaning them better, even after changing the head.
