Just seen the article on this. Didn't see a release date though. Is there already a thread? Who's planning to play it? |

To be honest I just can't get excited for it, and I'm a huge BF fan. If this spin-off was set in World War 2 I'd be all over it. Bocage country in France would look gorgeous in Frostbite 3. But It isn't, so I'll just carry on playing BF4 until Battlefront is released. -

Registered 11 years agoI feel the same as Stan to be honest. I'll give the beta a run. But I bet i'll just go back to continue to play BF4 as they will be supporting it further this year. -

Registered 9 years agoHave to agree I'm afraid, feels and played like a mod. I much prefer soldiers to cops/robbers in battlefield thank you very much. -

Registered 20 years agoI'm fine with a cops and robbers game, a multiplayer game that felt something like a bigger scale Payday would be great.
Unfortunately from the alpha last year this just plays like a reskinned Battlefield that just seems to be taking place on the streets of the USA.
I'll give it a bash but I expect to be disappointed again. -

Registered 13 years agoI don't think I'll touch it with a barge pole. Having re-bought BF4 in the xmas sales, that'll keep me going on & off until 5. -

Registered 20 years agoI missed out on BF4, figure it's a bit late to start now... -
Nah, is easy to jump in. It's all a giant clusterfuck unless you're playing with lotsa friends, so might as well have a look. -

Registered 7 years agoLove bf4 but just can't get excited for this, I feel sorry for the developers who really seem to be trying to please the community, but the concept just doesn't do it for me. bf4 still gives me all the shooting fun I need...until battlefront. Would love to be proved wrong but the protracted development makes me cautious too. -

Registered 11 years ago@Alastair I would say 60% of players on PS4, BF4, conquest large I see are new xmas players.

At least 60% I would say. A lot of noobs right now spoiling games for me. BF needs to be played in a certain way to maximise squad/team potential but so many just enjoying the novelty of sitting on rooftops sniping a la January 2014.

That said a lot of noobs on the other team also making me feel that I am better than I actually am! -

Registered 10 years ago@mattk84 Heh, I'd totally agree. I am, admittedly, an average player and last night I came in the top 3 in my last two games. Once our squad realized that we knew what we were doing they followed and spawned on us at every opportunity, unfortunately they spent most of the time running round like headless chickens around us. But saying that, it was a an absolute blast to play... win, lose or draw the game seems to have sorted itself out nicely.
But those snipers, goddamn 'em!!

Registered 10 years agoAnd on the subject of Hardline, I did enjoy the Alpha last year, it was pretty polished, the driving was much improved, the shooting was different but still good. It seems to be the theme that's not capturing people's imaginations, mine included.
Hopefully I'll get in on the Beta and that'll make up my mind on whether I'll be interested in buying it.
I watched a video by Westie last night and he says they're going to have Conquest, which is a wise decision I reckon. -

Registered 10 years agoLike the single player potential tbh, bf4 was my favourite shooter of the last few years. This isn't bringing all that much new so the sp slant looks different to me. -

hope it manages to be a lot less like regular battlefield than the previous beta
which was a skin pack on the characters, really. -

Registered 15 years agoIs it just me or is playing soldiers shooting other soldiers better/easier to enjoy than shooting hundreds of policeman?
I love bf4 but just not sure about playing cop killer.
Am I getting to old for this stuff? -

@superted1974 I've definitely been feeling the same. It doesn't sit right with me. -
Because whilst we were playing BF4 people were not dying in real wars ? I know what people mean but I don't get how something is unsettling because it happened closer to where we live than something that happens in countries outside of the a West, as a loose term. What about Operation Metro ?
Besides Gardkinecus criminals/gangs , not terrorists.
Anyhow, on the reddit it's been confirmed PSN will get it today, there is a dated placeholder up on the uk store now. -

Registered 15 years agoI enjoyed the last beta although I suspect it was only because it wasn't filled bursting with useless shitty gadgets fucking up the core gameplay and they'll all get unlocked later.
It was nice that some of the guns had some form of recoil too, that's been quite a novel feature in the BF series for quite a while now. Along with good map design, class balance, weapon balance. -

It's the whole militarisation of the Police force I think really. It's unsettling because we're seeing hardware designed an used in theatres of war being given to the police, and used on civilians. Especially with the events in Ferguson less than 6 months old.

Yeah really terrible shit happens in war and I get the double-standard in play. But still, having this as entertainment doesn't feel right to me.
