Registered 16 years agoI just got an e-mail saying there'd been a price rise on a couple I have pre-ordered (Shulk and Meta Knight), despite them never having been in stock a while now. Reading between the lines, I'm guessing they'll probably be opening pre-orders up again over the next few days, but at the higher price.
Not sure if those 2 are hard to find of course because it's far too early to tell properly, but if you're desperate it might be worth keeping an eye open for the next few days. -
I chose Pikachu when I got mine. It's yellow. Very. But doesn't do shit in any game I got. Has a cute tail though -

Registered 7 years agoYou folks reckon if Sheik will become a rare amiibo? Want to just collect the Fire Emblem and Zelda ones (Marth is being a right pain to find). I imagine Link and Zelda will be in plentiful supply but I'm unsure about Sheik... tempted to just order now incase. -

Registered 11 years agoDidn't they announce in the latest Nintendo Direct that Marth is getting another run so there should be more available soon? That might have just been a US thing though.
I got the Toon Link and Sheik Amiibos on Friday and they're both really good. I thought the Toon Link one might be a bit underwhelming but it might actually be my favourite that I've got now (also got Link, Samus and Zelda). Just need to wait for Ganondorf's Amiibo to complete the Zelda set. I'd love to get all of them but I just don't have the money to waste on them at the moment. -

Registered 17 years agoFinally got my (redelivered) Toon Link and Bowser amiibos this morning just as I was leaving for work. I've only had a brief glance at them through the packaging but both look very nice. Sonic next month and then that is me done with them for now...

Wave 1 - Mario, Link, Fox McCloud, Pikachu, Kirby, Peach, Villager, Yoshi, Marth, Wii Fit Trainer, Samus, Donkey Kong.
Wave 2 - Zelda, Little Mac, Captain Falcon, Diddy Kong, Pit, Luigi
Wave 3a - Lucario, Rosalina, Bowser, Toon Link, Shiek, Ike
There was supposed to be a single Wave 3, and some of these have been released abroad or put out early in some locations, but generally they've been split up so still to be released is:
Wave 3b - Mega Man, Shulk, Sonic, King Dedede, Meta Knight
Wave 4 - Charizard, Pac-man, Robin, Ness, Lucina, Wario -

Is Zelda a "rare" amiibo now too? Had a gander on Amazon and she's going for £15+ annoyingly.
Popped into GAME to have a quick look to see if Sheik was there and they want £15 for the lot too, get lost ya wankers. -
Yeah Game have upped the cost of amiibos to 15 quid. Really poor show when the only large brick and mortar game store left is gouging gamers. Not that long ago they were going under and stopping people cashing in their gift cards.
GAME needs to go away. Something better will hopefully take their place.
Had enough of forced bundling on new release of consoles, terrible trade in prices, costly second hand prices and shitty customer service.
They really are a dinosaur. -
Game had a poor xmas by all accounts so they may go under sooner than you think. -

It's early days. Looks like amiibos have been quite successful so you can only imagine there will be loads and loads of them. I'm sure the initial issues will be resolved as Nintendo just love money and amiibos rather seem like a licence to print it.
