Registered 16 years agoGoodbye Deirdre, Britain's soap queen,
Though I never knew you at all
You had the grace to stay with Ken,
As he forced 16 year olds to grab him by the ball(s).
I am crying writing it. -
@Vice.Destroyer yep Kingsbury high, left in 1997. -

Of course her being "truly British" meant that they couldn't force her to leave because of her criminal record.

Registered 9 years agoSurprised by how much this is being reported - it's like the Queen has karked it or something. Hope the bloke who plays Ian Beale gets the same acknowledgement as and when he perishes.
I don't have the pic to hand of Ian Beale, anyone?
edit: RIP Deirdre

Registered 18 years agoMy mum loves it, used to drive me mad. Very relieved NY wife doesn't do soaps. Hate them all.
Also, echo Steve's point... Some of the posts mixing up the character and the actress are hilarious. -

Partly to blame with the thread title, but the character name is more recognisable I imagine.

Its amusing that putting 'Ian Beale Painting' into a google image search comes up with a link to the Eurogamer forums! -

Registered 10 years agoI can't understand how anyone with the slightest bit of intelligence can watch Soaps, it's utter lowest common denominator shite and an insult to almost anyone's intelligence.
2 mins of Eastenders has me gaping in amazement at how shite it is.
/High horse
P.S Shame about the actress passing away but I'm relieved it wasn't sexy Gail. -

I find soaps dreadfully mundane and depressing.
Apart from the Sopranos.
That was a good one. -

Registered 16 years agoNot really a surprise that LetsGo likes soaps. Few other programs contain as much death and misery.

But really isn't. Both are dramas, its just soaps never end (unless cancelled by the broadcaster).
