MS and Sony *will* be going head-to-head for that space under your TV

My biggest gripe about the Cube is that the bastard thing won't fit under the TV!

So games are not regarded as entertainment then?

Games are PART of entertainment (as in a subset). N are concerntrating on that aspect of entertainment alone. MS and Sony *will* be trying to control (yes, control!) ALL you're entertainment (That's games, music, film, and TV).

Renzo, do me a favor. Bookmark this thread, come back to it every 3 months and keep telling me how much rubbish I'm speaking...

    Um... how about I don't?

You seem to be missing the point here. MS and Sony don't have to concentrate as much effort into the games as Nintendo do because they have strong 3rd-party support and Nintendo don't. Nintendo play a bigger role with regards to the overall quality of their software libraries than MS and Sony do, because for MS and Sony it's a matter of choosing which developers to get to develop for their systems, and not worry about developing games for their systems themselves.

Move the Xbox. You'll have room for 4 GCs.

I can get the Slimline PS2 under the telly stand; the GC beside the amp and the Xbox gets lumped in the cupboard*

*and there it shall remain until Jade Empire cometh.

That's kinda presuming I actually have an Xbox. :-)

The GameCube pad - Z Button aside - is without a doubt - obligatory in my humble opinion - jesus too many dashes - the best joypad in the world ever!

The analogue stick is marvellous. I wonder how Monkey Ball plays on the Ps2 analogue stick.

/can't bear to even think about it.

I've tried it for Monkey target. Only got 3 pads and a converter. It sucks. End of story.

It's just Nintendo bitching again about the fact that the types of games that they do best are no longer fashionable in their traditional target market. They'd like nothing better than to just dump a few simple platformers and racing games on us like they used to, but that stuff just doesn't sell to 'kids' any more - they want blood and gore and violence and complexity.

I want blood and gore and violence and complexity with an old-style Atari controller.

So this is your 'point' that I missed in the post that reads:
So games are not regarded as entertainment then? That is one of the most irrelevant and meaningless statements I've read in a while. Look at the end product, and the value of that, NOT the companies behind them.

Are you supprised I missed your 'point'? You didn't make it in your previous post. Futher, what has this 'point' got to do with MY post you commented on which was:

N are in the games business. MS and Sony are in the entertainment business...

Except draw the same logical conclusion?

N are in the games business = Nintendo play a bigger role with regards to the overall quality of their software libraries... ...developing games for their systems themselves.

You're agreeing with me now... make you mind up!
