Registered 18 years agoPretty much the best game show ever made apart from Knightmare and Fun House.
It needs bringing back. Just not with Vernon Kay. -

The Inside Story Of “The Crystal Maze”, The Most Epic Game Show Ever Made
It was an insanely ambitious, hugely risky, budget-breaking spectacle like nothing British television had ever seen before. Now, 25 years after its debut, the show’s creators tell BuzzFeed News how they made an accidental masterpiece. -

@YenRug Fantastic read! What would I give to see The Crystal Maze back on TV with Richard O'Brien.
And I don't mean reruns on Challenge

Registered 13 years agoI was worried this was going to be an announcement of a bunch of cunts from YouTube going on for a one off special.
Such a great show, my kids love watching it when is randomly on. I imagine it would get decent numbers if it was on Saturday evenings again. -

Fucking flexible funding

Still, looks like it's likely to hit the target, so your money's probably safe.
Edit: Also, I'm a little suspicious that they can build a maze suitable for the public to run about in in under two months in an inner-city location, but these guys do seem to have a bit of experience doing this sort of thing.

Registered 18 years agoTempted by the £300, eight ticket tier. But I'm worried it'll be a bit shit. I cant see £500k building the set they need. I'm worried it'll end up being some watered down version, with museum-grade puzzles to interact with. -

Registered 14 years agoWait... I'm confused... everything I have read about this so far suggested some kind of real life entertainment thing that you could sign up for and go along to with your mates.
But The Crystal Maze is also coming back to TV as well? Or are people's wires getting crossed here? -

Registered 14 years ago@M83J01P97 I get the impression that it's a case of the live-action version is being used to test the waters as to how much interest there still is in the show; beyond the funding for the Indiegogo run, I suspect they'll keep it running as a tourist attraction and also use it as a test of puzzles that could end up in a TV version. -

My sister wants to sign up for this. At £45 a pop, it might be worth it if this is likely to get funded. -

I used to play the one in Southampton around the same time! Must have been early/mid 90s. This guy here has some videos of the one in Wales (which I think was the last to close in 2010):

Bit of a bunch of dicks, but the videos bring back a lot of fun memories.
