Kiss Me Deadly - Super fantastic wierd Mike Hammer movie
Something Wicked this Way Comes - Disney horror from the 80's completely forgotten about nowadays though.

A lot of my other favorites are more due to rose tinted spectacles than actually being any good, mostly b-movies
    Damnation Alley
    Food of the Gods
    Invaders from Mars
    Amazing Collosal Man! :D
    Quatermass II

    Thanks, BlackSentoki, that's it.

Edit: And it's not a well known film, so there you go, I made a suggestion. But it's not horror either.

It's not, no, but it does have dancing zombies! It's a musical remake of a black comedy called "The Quiet Family" - about a family who open a guesthouse and all of their guests keep dying in case anyone is interested.

*cheesy as in obvious, not cheesy as in kak. imo.

edit: both of topic by the looks of it.

Nil by Mouth is a top top film. Gary Oldman's directing debut. His sister's in it too. Mo from Eastenders (the old one).

Some of the Troma movies are worth seeing - the first Toxic Avenger was a bit of a laugh but they go downhill fast. 'Tromeo & Juliet' and 'A Nymphoid Barbarian in Dinosaur Hell' sadly fail to live up to the promise of their titles.

I've seen Eraserhead. That is one weird film..

That's a cracking list there...christ, I thought I was the only one who'd seen Damnation Alley. Good old Jan Michael Vincent...

Have you see Laserblast, Spanky? Bizarre movie about a bloke who finds a weird medallion and laser gun in a junkyard and starts going on the rampage with it - definitely your sort of thing ;)

Really early Sly Stallone film where they raced cars across the country and earned points by killing people on the way.

Yeah that sounds exactly like my sort of rubbish! \o/ Its on amazons shops for fork all so i might give it a try, thanks for that.

I've got a old copy of sinister tales that sounds the same.

Tis a pity they don't put on a load of b-movies, scifi channel should have it sorted, alas they seem to only put repeats of the most gawdawful dross on. It may be called the scifi channel and as a scifi(bmovie though) nerd i can categorically say it is anything but. The ain't even had flesh gordon on ffs ;)

I think i owe my love of b-movies to jonathan ross, kermode and alex cox, the seemed to revive interest in them in the late 80's and early 90's, i remember having to actually pick between night of the lepus and close encounters of the spooky kind, not an easy choice, i went for broke and taped one and watched the other :D

Oh yeah parallax view, most people hate it but i have fond memories of accidentally watching it for the first time when out my tree, same situation with They Live :D

Shit btw all the Russ Meyer films have been released on funky dvds including Mondo Topless, although my personnal recommendations would be SuperVixens and Beneath the Valley of the Ultra-Vixens, if you've never seen any of his stuff then think of it as a pornographic Mel Brooks, only funnier.

Blimey, I have to name the same film in two threads!

Billy The Kid And The Green Baize Vampire!

Two worlds collide when a kid cowboy and a veteran vampire meet musically in Billy the Kid and the Green Baize Vampire. There has to be one final match, and the loser must break his cue forever.

Slingblade - Billy Bob Thornton is amazing.
Dark City - See where the Matrix nicked a lot of it's ideas from.
Hot Spot - Worth a mention just for Jennifer Connelly, wow.
    Happiness - Harrowing but brilliant.
Requiem for a Dream - Hard going but great film.

You guys have some weird definition of 'little known'. Anyway

    zing wrote:
Death Bed: The Bed that eats.

It's not really a horror film, it's just a strange film. Obviously about a bed that consumes people. The cool thing about it is the way it's told, the generally weird plot and the consuming of people is also neat.. plus, it's just a bed.. and as such just sits around waiting for people to lie down in it. If you can get past the fact that the film is extremely 70s, not even close to having a budget and just plain weird. Great. Available on DVD.
I have a thing for watching cheap 70s horror films late at night. They don't really work at other times, I reckon. There was a Hammer erotic horror with Christopher Lee playing the actual devil. That was pretty freaky.

Also, not sure if this is little known, though I hadn't come across it before I stumbled onto it half way through. It was a version of the Island of Dr Moreau containing poorly coloured rooms with freakily bad special effects of mutant creatures. Looking at imdb though, I can't tell if it's a colourised version of the [link=http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0024188/">1933 version, or if the

I don't care what anyone says, I LOVE that film...

    1) It's so obviously the inspiration for Carmageddon
    2) It's got naked chicks in it. Nice 70s naked chicks with bushes you could hide a crow in
    3) Sly Stallone is in it, David Carradine also
    4) One of the cars has got a V1 strapped to the roof (ish)

They've been mentioned, but 'Pi' and 'Requiem For A Dream'.

'Festen' and 'The Idiots', too. Probably any other 'Dogme' movie, too. (Except 'Julien Donkey-Boy'.)

Oh, and 'Evil Dead II'. 'Tis flawless.

Another film I'd have to count is "JungleBurger" - way too difficult to explain what it's about, but it's porn...!

Oh and Flesh Gordon - TOP film!

And "Once upon a girl" which I saw aged 12 and probably accounts for a lot ;)

Anyone remember a half hour long Spanish film, called 'La Cabina'?

It proper shat me up, so it did!

The plot was so cool and simple....

    SPOILERS!!!:

    ----------------

It's about a guy who gets trapped in a telephone box, and just as the fire brigade are going to spring him, the phone company turn up put the box on the back of a truck and take him for a long journey into the country. He ends up in an industrial installation built on the side of a mountain. Inside it are hundreds of telephone boxes full of dead bodies, some reduced to just the bones from having been there so long.

Drunken master II - the jackie chan version, not the rubbish cash in staring some nobody... you cant seem to get it in this country, but its jackies best work imo - certainly the most acrobatic pure kung-fu film he's ever made.
oh, and he gets drunk a lot as well.

Ong Bak - outstanding - Tony Jaa puts anything jackie's done to shame.

Sorta low budget-ish Brit Sci Fi flick written by John Brosnan (a blatant rip off of a Tharg's Future Shock from donkey's years ago too)
