@Jyzzy-Z I was going to start with Kiwami but started with 0 and very glad I did, would absolutely recommend that. Taken me so long to play a Yakuza game (owned 2 on the PS2 over a decade ago) and after these two, definitely now a series I rank among my favourites. |

I started with 6, being unaware of what was really available and thinking 0 was some kind of weird spin off, I thought it was best to start off with a “full” game in the series. If I realised just how heavily story based the games are, how much thy continue into each other, and how good they are, I never would have started at the end. I don’t think much of 0 has been spoiled but I certainly know a bit too much about what twists will happen in some of the other games now, and I fully intend on playing 1 - 5 in the future.
Having completed 6 I’ve switched to 0 now. It’s quite jarring at first because 6 is vastly more polished graphically and technically, but once I got over that I’ve started really getting into it, especially as I’ve become obsessed with Pocket Circuit. -
@Humperfunk Cheers. Have completely missed out on the whole series so if they're porting most of it to PS4 now is a good time to start. -

Registered 9 years agoCompleted it yesterday, fucking hell I do love this series now to the point that after almost 90 hours of Yakuza across 0 and Kiwami, I'm likely to pick up Kiwami 2 on release now.
I worked out with Majima that it was the substory issue stopping it - the one in question was actually in the location to move the story on so the massive pink dot was blocking the ! notifications so had no idea there was an active one (that moved to Debolah) in there! -

Registered 14 years agoSame. Sega played a blinder releasing a prequel, it seems to have brought so many people on board with the series, myself included. And now literally everyone I know who tried 0 has been day one on Kiwami, 2, and will probably be all over the rest of them -
I picked this up during the E3 sale and I am loving it as well.
I will say there are things that show the age of the game. The times it switches to a almost graphic novel type dialogue, and the pop in are jarring compared to current gen stuff but I don't mind.
So far the story has me hooked. I have just decided to leave the family and I can't wait to see how I will find the killer, get the plot of land for my "team" and become even higher ranking in the clan.
