    I've been looking forward to playing this too but even after reading reviews, I don't get how the co-op /multiplayer works.

    Can I play 2 player couch co-op AND with some randoms online at the same time? Or is 2 players enough?

    yes you can do that

    2 players is enough for some levels. The really top difficulty are a proper struggle with 4.

    I'll try and get 30 minutes on this to familiarise myself with the controls (I'm assuming it isn't rocket science - what could go wrong :D) , and if there is a space left in your party I can be on at 8pm

    :D indeed.

    In this, the best times are when it DOES go a bit wrong!

    The tutorial covers all the basics excellently. After that its just a case of not dying in a world where nearly everything can hurt you. Simple.

    Friend request received blackdog - will try and work through the tutorial tomorrow night. I apologise now for any friendly fire incidents, of which there will no doubt be many. Will also add a few more names from here as well.

    I would be up for playing at some point, I haven't played in ages but my character was relativity high (24 I think).

    @sid92

    Lets do it! I'm level 19. Really keen on getting back into it, that DLC pack has inspired me.

    FYI for the new players - you can do the higher difficulty stuff as soon as you get a recoiless rifle (or other anti tank equivalent) and a couple of upgraded guns - level has no impact on your base stats.

    Moving around in the mech suit is the best example of how far the rumble has come in the DS4. Although I prefer some things about the xbox one controller, for feedback effects the DS4 shits all over it.

    @Fourfoldroot

    Shooting everything is not a valid tactic in this game. You have to clear a path and move asap. You'll never get through high levels sitting around and trying to commit bug mass genocide. That's not the way the game's designed.

    Calling in supply drops is a big part of it too, if you find that tedious you're probably not going to enjoy it for long.

    Complete objectives as fast as you can and get the fk out. That's the game. Start trying some level 6+ planets and you'll probably get more of a feel for it.

    I don't really know what you mean by it's a shame? you need to use the great combat mechanics to survive, but with endless waves of enemies and limited ammo and supplies you also need to be tactical. You can enjoy the great combat mechanics and have to play a bit smarter than a mindless shooter. That's why it's so good :)

    Embrace it!

    Such an awesome game when playing with higher level players that know how to co-operate :)

    - wait for picking up one time calldown weapons unless danger high
    - Objectives are the objective, no random shooting for reaons other than defense or breakthrough
    - Cover your flank, trust others to cover theirs
    - Pickup only what you need, don't ammo-loot
    - the right stragegems for the right objective/situation
    - Watch your step: don't mech-trample or move car when ally next to it
    - provide cover for minesweeper guys and slow reloading, move with them
    - only throw reinforcement strategems in the hope of crush at the biggest targets.

    One of the easiest ways to spot bad team-player is guys that sprint towards samples and ammo without checking team-mates needs and turn to shoot in an already covered direction. Loot-ninja and kill-streak minded people that doesn't get what game they are in.
