| Yep, one of the best in years. I am still utterly bemused by how little it seemed to sell. |

Registered 4 years agoIt actually sold millions and millions and millions. It just didn't sell that well at first when it was full price for the reasons everyone know.
The multiplayer as well, while the best around, is far more skillful than the competition. That limits its appeal slightly to the great unwashed. -

Ooo - I'll have to check that out
I think it has the best post-game progress/performance screen thing.

Registered 4 years agoJust played one hour of this and one hour of apex. God tf is infinitely better than apex, shame tf doesn't have the same audience. I really don't get br games, so dull. -

Registered 13 years agoI might have to get PS Plus and give the MP a whirl. That's one thing in Apex's favour - no Plus subscription required. -

Registered 6 years agoPicked this up for a couple of quid on PSN to play through the campaign. It's pretty great eh. Is the horde mode thing any good? -

Registered 15 years agoPlayed multiplayer for the first time in a long time last night and it's still so much fun. One of the best multiplayer shooters ever. Makes me sad that Titanfall 3 is delayed indefinitely thanks to Apex Legends

Registered 4 years agoHorde mode is pretty shit but the main PvP stuff is some of the best I've ever played. -

Registered 16 years agoFrontier Defence is ridiculously good. The only minor issue is team composition can screw you if you have a whole team that hasn't levelled up their Titans yet, but even 1 poor player (like me) with some levelled up Titans will counter that.
Getting a good feel for the waves, which threats are the biggest, and which Titans are best in what role, make it a really enjoyable experience. The Titans do genuinely change how you play, and the way you play them changes as they level up. Ronin at first isn't great to the point many give up, but at high level you're just charging around the map almost constantly in Sword Core mode, wrecking EVERYTHING.
I've not played in a while but now I really want to again. -

Registered 7 years agoA levelled up scorch just absolutely destroys with his area damage. Good one to start with.
Agreed on a Ronin though once levelled up. Helps get to those bastards at the back quickly. -

Registered 15 years agoYeah, great fun in all modes. Just wish there was still a more active community on PC, would love some of the harder Frontier Defence sessions... -

Registered 6 years agoEmergerd its dfawkes. Is the horde thing doable with 2 players? -

Registered 15 years agoDon't know if you can even start without a full roster. Though it should fill up quickly enough.
It stays fun though, even if people drop out... -

Registered 16 years agoSome maps you could almost solo on lower difficulties. 2 is largely possible if you have complimentary Titans (usually a long range one and a tank). With lower level Titans there are a couple of maps you're going to have a bad time on without at least 3 (tank, sniper, roaming).
4 is best though. Gives you more room to cover each other, place more auto-turrets and mines, and compensate for Mr Ignores-The-Objective. -

Well played 👌👍 I so wish we got TF3 instead of AL. I'm not convinced we will ever see a new Titanfall, as in a traditional one -
Yeah nice work OllyJ!
This also served as a PSA that TitanFall2 is still one of the best multiplayer shooters available right now. Still brilliant to jump into. -

Totally, (obviously not Gears) for a fps. I still prefer the original but both excellent games. -

Registered 4 years agoYeah I'll play at some point. Currently on rdr2 and nioh 2 with a friend and I'm moving next week but after that I'll be up for installing TF2 again. Will have to dust off my grapple hook, alternator and old Ronin. -
@OllyJ On xbox?
Loved the 1st TF. Its prob been my favourite FPS this gen. The 2nd wasnt as good for me, although I enjoyed the campaign the multiplayer didnt have the great map design, plus other things, that the 1st had.
Hard point was my favourite mode.
