    @Ienjoysquid

    I thought it was the joy con, but when I contacted Nintendo they pointed out that it could be a problem with the Switch itself. I noticed that the problem started after a particular system update, so always wondered if it had something to do with that.

    Whatever it was, that caused the problem, cleaning for dust didn't seem to sort it and neither did recalibrating the stick, but I haven't had the problem at all since sending it to Nintendo.

    @Devilligan Bugger. I hate sending things away.

    I'll try blowing in it really hard. That might fix it's OS.

    The Longest Five Minutes

    A rather expensive JRPG that's heading to the Switch soon enough. Great story telling mechanic where you're dumped straight into the final battle but have lost your memories. The whole game takes place over five minutes as you try to delve into your memory to recover your abilities. Story's great, as is the music, but the gameplay is just a little too simple and the art style could have been better. £39.99!

    39.99! They're optimistic!

    @BigOrkWaaagh

    I think the word deluded would be more appropriate.

    The game looks so simple. The animations are pretty much as basic as basic comes. This game deserves to fail hard with that price tag, who in their right mind would buy this?

    I like the premise but it's looking more like they need to move the decimal point to the left.

    Saw a review of this (for the Vita) and thought it looked really nice, but it's more like a £10 game. No way I'd pay £40 for it!

    That's pretty cool, but how is that ever going to work in handheld mode? Porting that UI to a small screen will be a nightmare.

    Hopefully (unlike Darkest Dungeon) they've designed it so that the UI can be scaled to smaller screens or TV screens.

    So, today's rumours are slightly interesting. Apparently Namco Bandai are involved with development of Metroid Prime 4. There's apparently two sources for that rumour now. Not sure what to think of that, but at least it means we can still expect something different from Retro Studios.

    Not only that, but apparently Ridge Racer 8 is also in development, exclusively for Switch. Not sure I buy that one, but I wouldn't say no to another Ridge Racer. As long as it has online support and does away with the cheap AI I experienced with Ridge Racer 3D.

    Spotted this - Smoke & Sacrifice (no relation to Salt & Sanctuary!) via Nintendo UK's Twat feed - not much info but looks pretty.

    @MoGamer2006

    Damn. That's getting added to my near endless list of indies I want for the Switch.

    @Devilligan Yeah, given the Switch hasn't even been out a full year yet, the amount of cool stuff out or coming soon is insane. Not complaining, though!

    Anyone played The Sexy Brutale?

    Iím still living off eShop credit recieved over Christmas at the moment, and it looks right up my street. I see that the Switch version seems to be a bit of a mess at the moment, but that theyíre working on sorting out the resolution and frame-rate. Is the game itself worth frittering away one of my 10 2018 slots on?

    I got The Sexy Brutale in a Humble Monthly bundle last year. It initially impresses, but then became a little overwhelming in how it introduced controls and concepts and I bounced off it quite hard and haven't been back.

    It felt like a game I wanted to love, but couldn't be arsed to make the effort. And even when you do, it's a relatively brief experience. I'd keep my powder dry if I were you.

    http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2018/02/rejoice_soon_youll_be_able_to_use_your_my_nintendo_gold_points_on_the_switch_eshop

    You can finally use your My Nintendo Gold points for Switch stuff. Huzza. They last a year so hopefully anything you bought from Switch release onwards should still have redeemable points. On the bad side, this might force me to ruthlessly roger my duck and fuck up the whole 10/12 challenge if it means I can get small e-shop games free.

    1 gold coin = 1 whole penny!!

    Nintendo is like that tight fisted auntie who gives you a box of Maltesers from the pound shop for Christmas. It's almost endearing.

    Not really, thatís pretty much the going rate for all loyalty reward schemes. (Boots, Tesco etc)

    From March onwards digital purchases will be 5% cash back effectively

    1 coin = 1p is fine I guess, it's more than you get from the other two.

    @JoelStinty

    That looks about right. But one penny is not one gold coin. Looking at the discounts for Wii U games it seems like one coin is worth about 10p (so 25 coins gets you a £3 discount off a game for example).

    Now a full price e-ship download gets you 70 gold coins which is around £5-7 worth of value (if you find something good to do with the points).

    I've got 260 points which I hope translates to around £20-26 worth of free shit. That duck will get abused if I can get some free games and my points are expiring.
