    I wonder if this fixes the clicking fan noise that I encountered after the last update. May not be related though and I've actually got a duff Switch.

    My Switch arrived yesterday and had a frustrating evening setting it up due to left joycon not syncing with the console, eventually sorted by turning the switch off, pressing the sync button on controller and then switching it back on.

    I then wasted 2 hours trying to charge the controller not knowing that the lights don't show how much charge it has but which player the controller is. And then managed to get the wrist straps stuck by putting them on the wrong way.

    2 minutes into Mario though and all that frustration was forgotten :)

    Nintendo Germany reports that 650,000 Switches were sold in Germany, more than the Wii sold in the same period.

    650k is quite a number.

    Well the Wii is pretty old i wouldnt expect it to have sold any units at all in the same period tbh

    It's the same story in France and Spain, too. I think the UK is the only market in Europe that tells a different story and its still doing rather well here.

    Switch for 280 euro... yay or nay?

    I look at the library and still don't really see anything of interest that I couldn't get much cheaper on PC. The portability is not a big deal to me.

    On the other hand, I'm definitely going to buy a Switch at some point anyway, and since it's a smash hit I don't think the price will drop anytime soon. So maybe I should take the chance while I can?

    Don't underestimate the portability. I am a dyed-in-the-wool PC gamer, and I don't even use the portability outside of the house usually, and I still want my (indie) games on the Switch. You won't find me sitting at the PC for 3 hours to play Darkest Dungeon, but on the sofa, it might happen. :)

    Yeah, what UncleLou said. When you have the portability, you'll be pleasantly surprised at how much you'll use it on the loo.

    I would need to actually buy games to use the portability. I blame Humble Bundles for lowering my biting treshold on indie games.

    I wouldn't mind some Isaac, but the price for the Switch version... they must be crazy.

    Only 2 days until Kirby! I wasn't even all that interested but I thought I'd give the demo a go as I have fond memories of Kirby games. I ended up playing the demo several times over, experimenting with all the power combos you could use with Kirby, making up different teams of allies, doing ally-free runs, exploring every nook and cranny and generally having a lot of fun with it. I was genuinely surprised how much I enjoyed it, to the point it became a day-one for me.

    I definitely get that it's not for everyone, but I can't wait now :)

    @Malek86

    If cost of games is a primary driver then don't bother.

    For me its all about being able to play the game at all due to portability vs never playing it on my PC.

    (Oh and go physical where you can, the second hand market for games will mean you never really have to pay more than £10 for a new game if you sell the old one)

    @Malek86

    BOI is currently £27 for the physical version in the UK. It's a little more expensive than the Steam version on digital given that you need to buy the base game and the expansions. Of course Steam often has big discounts.

    If nothing published so far interests you then I'd give the Switch a miss as it doesn't sound like it offers what you want.

    The thing is, I'm sure that I'll want it at some point. My 3DS will need a replacement eventually. But after many years of consoles, lately I'm finding that having to build a library from scratch every time is pretty annoying.

    I do wish there were some kind of backward compatibility. Even just being able to access my 3DS or Wii U VC games would be a big incentive for me.

    Even though 3rd party support is better than previous Nintendo consoles , itís still mostly about the first party games so if you donít fancy them, I wouldnít bother UNLESS portable indie games is a massive deal for you.

    Kirby Star Allies gets a 7/10 from Nintendo life. That's like a 'no rating' from EG. Ouch. Except EG gave it a recommended. Weird.

    I've seen loads of 3DS's over the years but only a few instances of Switches being played by nerds on trains. And no, before anyone asks, I wasn't looking at my reflection in the train window at the time.

    Why is that weird? Different reviewers, different opinions!
