Ah, I understand where you're coming from. Yeah, it'd be nice if maybe they let you play with a Pro Controller and just limited the selection of games to the less wavey ones. I have no idea how much that'd limit things. Maybe that'd leave so few games it wouldn't be worth it? Or maybe it's just Nintendo, because Please Understandô:p

I'll probably have the bundle. I already have 2 pairs of Joy Cons so don't even need them :p

I've also written an actual letter to Nintendo about my broken Joy Con, because I'm still disappointed they wanted £29 to fix it even after I mentioned the EU Directive thing. £29 is ridiculous when a brand new one is £34.99 if you look around. I assume they don't even repair it, and £29 is just the wholesale price of a new one. Not sure it'll lead to anything, but it sure made me feel better.

With Mark of the Ninja supposedly being released tomorrow, although not appearing in the eShop yet including the coming soon, Iím going to double dip. Seems like a good fit to play while on a sun lounger when I fly away on Thurs....😉

Anyway, is it normal for a game to not appear in the store so close to release on Switch?

Also considering downloading Hollow Knight, seems like a good fit for playing in handled mode.

It's unusual, but on occasion there have been games that have literally appeared on release day. Not sure why, but in at least one case I know of (Manticore) it was due to a bug that needed a last minute fix.

Apparently Guacamelee is out on the Switch today. The sequel is coming in December.

Source? Not doubting, just keen to read about it! :)

Definitely getting Mark of the Ninja (looks ace) and Guac 2. May double-dip on Guac 1 but I doubt the price is going to be friendly enough to make it worth it.

EDIT: NEVERMIND! Just saw it on the front page. Sigh.

EDITEDIT: £11.99 isn't too bad..., is it? Tempted.

    EDITEDITEDIT: 1,000 posts!

I can find Mark of the Ninja to pre-order on the US site for $19.99 but nothing on the UK site.

I got fawked up with that one.
I do have to apologise for this. Sorry Addy (and Dougs). At the time, I didn't have all the right information. Now I do, I realise what I said was uncalled for. My apologies.

I say this now as I bought Super Mario Party yesterday, and so far haven't run into a single minigame that couldn't at the very least have been converted easily to use buttons instead of waggle, and for the most part the games were already just the thumbstick and a button! They could've easily detected a Pro Controller and disabled the games that need motion control. Heck, they already do this for a couple of games that require HD rumble if you have it disabled.

Joy Cons are still better, though. I quite like the motion control stuff. They could've supported a Pro Controller if they really wanted to, though. So sorry all!

It's an incredibly annoying trait. Locking some of Mario's better moves behind waggle in odyssey and not allowing a button map is just twattishly obstinate.

Even though they've made some crazy controllers, they've had an ethos about minimising button use on controllers for years.

I completely forgot about the motion control in Odyssey. I'd probably have noticed more if I'd played it in handheld mode, but I can imagine it being more fiddly if you you were trying to execute chained-jumps.

You can tell the Pro Controller exists purely for games that were likely to be ported from the other consoles. Its practically essential for shooters (without decent moton aiming). Its pure stubbornness, but Nintendo would rather you use the joy con and motion control as it's a unique selling point for their system. It also happens to work rather well if the developer is willing.

On a mobile console at that!

"Mummy, that man is having a fit!"
"No, darling, he's just playing Mario Odyssey."

I felt so awkward trying to play that damn game on my commute at times.

I have a funny feeling as Nintendo fan's whilst we bemoan their endless fuckupery we wouldn't have it any other way.

All part of the Nintendo charm I guess.

@DangerousDave_87 Yes. The game is ~£45 and the controllers are ~£65, so you're saving £20

    Anyone had their screen replaced/fixed?

My dock left me with a long thin scratch. Barely visible in low light but annoys the fudge out of me when sun hits the screen. Wondered if it's worth the hassle of a fix.
