Got the beat em up bundle from the US store for $11.99. Also had $4 in my account so only had to buy a 10 dollar code from pcgamesupply. Had some credit and coins left over for Tachyon project and membrane which were a massive dollar apiece :)

Let's just say that I had hated every Rogue like I had ever played but still thought Dead Cells was brilliant.

Ah Darkwood is so fucking good! Controls pretty perfectly on the Switch. Load times seem a bit iffy though, so hopefully they can patch that.

Too many games in the sale....can anybody give me a quick top 5. I like metroid vania style, not a fan of rogue like random stuff, dont want crushingly hard.

Saw in here that dead cells was on sale and thought ooh. But alas 20% off isn't enough for my cheap ass! Was hoping for 50%...

Likewise, £18 is still too much for my rogue hating blood.

Will be snapping up The Messenger though as it's intrigued me.

Messenger is pretty good. Loved the music in particular and also its self aware dialogue.

(Dead Cells is in a higher tier of quality though).

Dead Cells is so damn good. Absolutely miles better than most other games like it. I would strongly recommend just paying the extra, and playing a top quality game! Loads of replayability too.

Windjammers is a good buy at half price, too.

I'm quite tempted by the Castlevania Collection. Quick look around makes it sound like a decent package, but has anybody here got any opinion on it?

Would love a stab at Dead Cells, but I'm determined to finish either Dark Souls or Final Fantasy 7 first. Both have been on the list long enough. I keep getting distracted by time sinks like Splatoon, Rocket League and Stardew Valley, in which I've played hundreds of hours on each.

This sale will completely pass me by and I will get nothing!

The controls for FFXII are incredibly clunky by todays standards. Nobody mentions this in the reviews.

I recommend Akane at the current discounted price. Very tight action, but it also seems like a missed opportunity. Single screen brawler with only one location, and one slightly evolving boss.

I would love to see the combat system and aesthetic applied to a dungeon of randomised rooms, kind of like Binding of Isaac. Bring in some nice additional backgrounds, with random environmental hazards/opportunities. Introduce a few new basic enemy types (it doesnít really need too many), and some extra bosses with their own unique moveset evolutions. Throw in some more items and single-use buff consumables. Build the plot, characters and lore a bit, give the game closure through an actual final battle and epilogue. It could really kick arse.

As it stands now, itís a fun distraction. Combat, aesthetic and soundtrack are all seriously amazing, but it lacks actual content. Itís worth a taste at the current price.

This is a very specific question, but...

Has anyone ever had the experience of using the Switch in a developing country? Specifically, would the online connectivity (mostly downloading stuff) work in a place that does have Wi-Fi, but where Nintendo presumably has no servers or presence there?

It's not a huge deal either way, but I'm going to Myanmar in about a week for 6 months, and want to know if I should be harassing my friend to send me a physical copy of Fire Emblem.

EDIT: ...I think that might be the most quintessential "first world problems" thing I've ever written.

Apparently the £30 Switch version of Resident Evil 4 is lacking the motion controls from the Wii version. What exactly are they charging a premium for? On the other hand, it is compatible with a Gamecube controller.

I do hope these ports eventually drop to the £10 mark.

Premium is applied as they know people will pay. It is money for almost nothing as far as Capcom are concerned. Might as well see how much they can fleece more gullible Switch owners for and then pop it in a sale after 6 months with a more palatable price to entice more savvy Switch owners.

There is no incentive to launch with a low price as it is not a new game requiring early traction, it is a well known and critically acclaimed game already.

Yeah, dunno if I want to fork out any amount of money for a game that I've already played to death.

Good memories, though. I got the GC special edition back in the day.

I was going to buy it from Russia for £21 but no motion controls mean it's a definite no from me.

@Addy__ I played it to death on the Wii. One of the few games that benefited enormously from the motion controls. I re-bought it on PC and gave up with it after an hour :(

Yeah I was the same. Originally got an import GC release and hammered it but the Wii motion controls probably improved the game more than anything else I'd seen. I tried replaying it on pc and just couldn't get on with the old controls again. I had a feeling capcom would cheap out on this port. If they patched in motion controls then I'll be all over it again.

Resi 4 (though I haven't bought it. Yet.) can be added to the list of "my all time favourite games ported to the Switch".

    RE4
    Lumines
    Disgaea
    Skyrim
    Bayonetta
    Okami

Then there are the games that have made the list since playing on Switch. That's another cracking list imho.

Having never played a FF game before I decided to buy the physical version of FF12. It arrived today so can always get rid if it's not my cup of tea.
