Once we leave the EU we won't have pesky regulations getting in the way of your dreams, actually I wonder if it'll make Switch games even more expensive?

Yeah, I own DQXI on PS4 but haven't played it yet. Looking at some videos and hearing that soundtrack was, uh, quite a surprise.

I'm incredibly likely to buy it on Switch /o\

Are you arguing in favour of replacing the Working Time Directive with a new Wanking Time Directive?

    Here all week, folks.

Oh wow, that soundtrack is pretty rough. I have this shrink-wrapped for PS4 so I think I'll sell that on and bite the bullet for the Switch.

The composer, who is in pretty much every way it is possible for a human to be, The Worst*, insisted that the in-game soundtrack be in MIDI format so he could make more money selling CDs of the orchestral one.

    * Denies Japanese war crimes, anti-LGBT rights, blames rape victims, etc. Horrible old git, basically.

It goes beyond that battle theme, but thatís a good example of the general standard. Itís a grand game that looks beautiful and sounds like shite apart from the main intro theme.
Still a great game but as I said it sticks out badly.

@jimnastics DC Villains seems to run relatively well, overall. Definitely not 20fps like Undercover. The controls and especially menus still feel pretty laggy though.

@dazcox5181 had it on PC. Difficulty level was a bit high I thought and story wasnít all that great. I enjoyed BG 1 & 2 much more and I donít think I finished it. I donít think their mechanics were my kind of thing.

Main thing was the difficulty spikes which meant a lot of micro managing if I recall correctly.

@dazcox5181 Can't speak to the Switch version.

On PC, it is a reasonably good, but not spectacular, spritual successor to the Baldur's Gate games. On the plus side, the mechanics and engine are really good. It looks and feels how the BG games feel in your memory (and not the clunky, pixellated artifacts they actually are). Combat is fun and there are lots of character-building options. Some of the end-game fights are really good and will give you flashbacks to BG2's dragons.

On the downside, it is way too heavy on loredumps and exposition - way more than the BG games ever were. It throws way too much world-building and history information at you before you've actually had a chance to get invested, while the characters are a bit weak, meaning that the game lacks a bit of the human touch that BG2, in particular, had in spades. Also, no humour. None at all. Which is a failure in a game that wants to be a successor to those early Bioware games.

It seems to me like it would be a bit too complex for the smallish switch screen, but I Spose with zoom and stuff it may translate ok. Iím not surprised about the loading times seeing as the current gen consoles struggle with it, thereís fairly frequent loading as well as the areas arenít that large and thereís some backwards and forwards.

    Anyone playing Mario Tennis?

The 'Simple' gameplay with all the ridiculous zone/special/trick shots turned off plays like a dream (in all honestly it seems very similar to the GC version). Love it.

It's a shame all the single player content is all to do with the 'special' shots. Seems a bit daft that you can't play a 3 or 5 set match too - think Nintendo underestimated the appetite a lot of people have for a 'regular' tennis game.

If there were more options for 'simple' tennis games I'd probably take the plunge on the strength of the gameplay alone (and multiplayer).

That's not entirely fair. The humour isn't as broad as Minsc* or as meta as Tiax but it's still there. Mostly in the ways the characters interact with each other.

    * Except Zahua and his many wacky drugs.

Also it doesn't have an Anomen.

I played it loads when it was first released but the balance was massively off and Nintendo kept making a hash of it so i eventually dropped it.

@Rhaegyr kids have enjoyed it from what I've seen, but I put them on Simple with everything turned off and the computer on Novice. Not sure what they will think when and if they play it with all the bells and whistles. Shame it doesn't appear to be waggle compatible (I've not had time to look much).

@GuybrushFreepwood I've not played it yet, but I'm sure there's a motion control mode. I swear I've seen Reggie play against one of those American late night chat show hosts on YouTube, somewhere.

Looks like they've released a demo for Cadence of Hyrule. I'm intrigued by the title but wasn't sure if I wanted to take the plunge, so will nab this and see if it's my thing:

@Pac-man-ate-my-wife came here to share the same news.

Have played through 15 mins of it and I love it. If I wasn't on a stag this weekend I'd have bought it straight away. Alas I will probably wait for the sale price.

But damn I was hooked straight away and once my boys bedtime routine is all done I'll be finishing the demo.
