Hopefully you are better at platforming than me. Yooka took me 45 attempts to beat the Lair.

That's great Tomo! That's the main issue with HK, it's easy to forget what you've done or picked up along the way.

There is one ending that is reasonably achievable, but it does mean powering up your dreamnail and doing another 3 bosses (I think?) and a crazy platforming hell area. Then you should get the 2nd stage of the HK fight. I think that's considered the canonical ending (which sets up Silksong?) There are a couple beyond that, but I didn't bother.
Alright, sounds like you can't get to the other endings without scouring absolutely everywhere then.

There are a few bits and bobs that I want to do, like win the final Colloseum fight and dick about in the Resting Grounds crypt. But some of the secret doors I've not been able to open look like they require some very specific things. CBA trawling absolutely everywhere again... done plenty of that, so I'll just look up the other things to do methinks.

Also, on this one specifically... when I found that item, I thought it sounded important. But it gives you pretty much zero info on what to do with it. You have to recognise that the shape on the door matches the item, and I think I encountered the item and door separated by several hours! No way I was going to put two and two together there.

@Tomo Yeah! And you can do so much of it out of order it can be proper confusing.

It's an amazing game though, even if you do go for that second ending there are still quite a few optional places that are only there for completionists. Just do as much as you want, you've already got an ending, so if you're happy with that then that's fine!

I'm really looking forward to Silksong now! :)

Anyone else get a Nintendo Christmas catalogue through the post today? A bit random as I never asked for one. Guess as I brought from the store before they sent me one. Or some fucker has shared my details!. But throughly enjoyed flicking through it. Did make me Miss the old days of browsing Argos catalogues (and the bra section in freemans or what ever it was called! Err... yeah :) .
Comes with a 10% discount for the store too (havnít checked if you can use it on eshop)

@JoelStinty I got an email confirming it will arrive in the post.

I saw a post somewhere last week about getting a 10% discount on next purchase in the eshop (at least I think my memory is correct) so requested the free magazine. But yeah, now it seems the discount is for the store...

I've gone digital. But two of my friends got their copy today too. I won't start it till Monday. Off to a music festival in Leeds this weekend so won't get a chance to really play it. Though the bus journey is something stupid like 13 hours so might cane it on there!

Nice one. Enjoy bud. I'll hopefully get an hour on it tomorrow after I've had a bit of a horror fright fest with a film or two.

Wow - Wargroove really is just Advance Wars, but with knights instead of tanks.

Only played 3 missions, but enjoying it so far

    Morning

My little boy would like a Nintendo Switch Lite from Father Christmas, if he is lucky enough to get one would he be able to play my digital games, would I need to set up a NNID and would we be able to play games together locally?

You will need to create yourself an NNID and log into both consoles. Once logged into his Switch he will have direct access to your games, even if using his own account. However, the are two caveats.

Firstly, you can't both play the same game at the same time if only one of you has paid for it. I couldn't play Stardew Valley or Minecraft with the miss until she bought her own copy. Secondly, if he is playing any game from your digital library, you won't be able to play anything else from that library during that time. Trying to do so will immediately boot him out of the game he was playing.

Lol, good luck with that. I was happy with the original ending tbh. Too much grind in the post-game.

Finished Ori last night. It's a pretty stunning game, and not just a pretty face either, with some cool gameplay mechanics and ways of navigating around the world. It's also not for the faint of heart... think almost Celeste-levels of difficulty in some sections.

I know that's no exactly not news to most people as the game is a few years old now, but anyway. Definitely up there with the very best 2D games on the Switch.

I want to buy our little boy Luigi's Manson 3 for Christmas, it's currently on offer for £39.99 at CDKeys (£49.99 on eshop) for digital download. That's pretty good right? Unlikely to be in an eshop sale before Christmas right?

Very much doubt youíll see a discount for such a new game.

You suggested HK after I played Ori Kay, and I think HK is the better of the two. But they're both brilliant.

Personally, I didn't find Ori that hard, especially compared to Celeste. I think that helped me race through it as I was just enjoying the journey. Both are pretty forgiving with checkpoints though, so they don't incite the same rage that Hollow Knight can...

Wow, that's a great deal. The new Zelda is also in the same offer.

I need to track down a Tesco then...

Oh, I didn't find it that hard (definitely not compared to the B-sides on Celeste) - I was just surprised at how much inch perfect platforming was required in some sections. Especially during the escape sequences, in which there seemed to be very little room for error.

And yeah, Ori was brilliant (certainly as a platformer), but I feel that the scale, NPCs and world-building of HK takes it to another level. Guacamelee is another great Metroidvania available on the Switch that is well worth playing.

Disappointing that it is in store only. There is a huge Tesco by me but Mario Maker 2 is the only Switch game they have.

Christ that's a crazy good deal... shame I'm a digital boy! I've plumped for the CDKeys offer.
