Yeah, I put a screen protector on as I'm very accident prone.

I have one. On Amazon they are $10. That seemed worth it even if it only helps a little.

Yes I bought this twin pack off amazon, was £6.50 at the time, the second one was handy since I messed up putting on the first.

I asked my wife to put it on for me because she is good at these things and I am fucking useless so she promptly dragged the thing across the table. I can still hear the back of the switch scraping along the surface.

Started playing Farm Together, a very laid back farming game. It's simple stuff but enjoyable with easy controls. Plays well and there's a lot to do design wise and special events. Also quite a lot of dlc. Not as complex as Stardew or anything like it really but worth a look if you want an extremely relaxing game. The plants grow in real time, some taking minutes, some taking maybe 24 hours. Looks to have online multiplayer too.

@rice_sandwich I take that it's the same developer but if you enjoy that, conduct together is also a nice mellow game, though it can get a bit hairy on some levels.

Interesting. While I've only put in a couple of hours I'd give Farm Together a thumbs up for chill gameplay that anyone can play. Local split screen co-op works well. It hits play a little bit every day vibe, plus you can give online friends varying levels of access (from view only to do everything) and build a giant farm together).

Got a switch lite recently, along with a nice big sd card to fill. Do nintendo have any decent sales throughout the year? The eshop seems to be very pricey.

    @damagedinc

First party titles generally have modest discounts (maybe 30% off, up to 50% for less popular first party games). Other titles go on sale regularly and I'd expect an xmas sale. I'd say games are a bit dearer compared to other platforms but not outrageously so. Though certain old games seemed to have maintained a high price (Skyrim etc.) probably because people keep buying them at full price. Stupid consumers!

Yeah the sales on 3rd party stuff can be pretty good, but Nintendo stuff isn't discounted that much, except Mario vs Rabbids which is always on sale and also fucking excellent.

It's a slight shame, as there was a rather big sale just a week ago.

I've started Luigi's Mansion today. I want some classic nintendo fun to get me into a more festive spirit, as the festive period approaches.

Seems to be a few solid ports hitting in the last week
And the forthcoming one. Obvious ones like Alien and Assassin creed but didnít realise Ashen and Call of Juarez had ports coming too. Also Star Ocean R looks decent too.

I wish we'd get some of those small indie games that were released in the 2008-2013 era, back when you needed a publisher for a console port, and Steam access was still limited by Greenlight.

There's a number of small games there that never saw a console release, that could do well with a Switch port for example.

I like the aesthetic of it but puzzle games rarely stick with me.
    Pity.

Where is Spelunky and Invisible Inc? Noticeable gaps in the Switch library.

Surprised Dave hasnít been writing letters daily to Derek Yu to get spelunky on the Switch.

Having said I think it may arrive just before the second game arrives

I do miss Spelunky. Not sure if I ever made it to hell.

I did bug old Derek, but he gets inundated with requests. A far as I'm aware, he's focusing on the sequel before porting either game. Maybe the Switch will see a double Spelunky bundle like Hotline Miami?

He said himself that he would love to put Spelunky on the Switch a couple of years ago, so I'm sure it will happen eventually. Most likely in a bundle once the sequel's PS4 exclusivity runs out.
