@BigOrkWaaagh I'm on someone's list, not sure if it's yours or a different user as I don't know anyone's real names or if Forum IDs have changed!

I just treated myself to a lite out of Xmas money o had. Already have a day one full switch.

Deffo a case of best of both worlds for me now with every option possible. The original switch now just feels too bulky for handheld and taking in my bag to work.

Swapping game saves back and forth isn't really a hassle and I just have a hotspot in my phone so the digital ones work without swapping out my "home" console.

No regrets owning both at all. However, if you don't own a switch at all the 80 quid saving would turn into regret as some titles really are better docked on big screen. Astral chain, Zelda and smash being the main things. And id never give up local mariokart multiplayer.

Alright gents, had anyone played Witcher 3 extensively on Switch? I know there is plenty of DF coverage etc, but wondering what itís actually like day to day on the commute etc.

I played many hours of Divinity 2 but the resolution was a bit of a nightmare to be honest, you just had a vague idea what was actually happening on screen a lot of the time.
It's... A little blurry, but perfectly playable and I'm completely hooked in a way I couldn't be on PS4.

@ThrowingTuba I've played 65 hours of the Witcher so far and I'm loving it. I've not seen this blurriness that people are reporting. It's better graphically than Skyrim on the Switch and to me looks sharp handheld. Docked I find it more enjoyable but textures are more ragged looking. I've had some frame drops during cut scenes, but not many.

I've found turning off fish eye for Witcher sense and turning off motion blur have helped with a bit of queasiness I had previously.

Anyway, personally I am having a whale of a time with it. This talk of Vaseline on the screen is nonsense. It's clear in handheld and the writing and HUD are both usable which surprised me. All menus are fine. I've a workmate who is playing it too mostly portable and he's loving that he can drop in and out. The pair of us play it over lunch at work.

I've looked up a couple of 1080p videos of the Witcher and they look better, but not a huge amount. I'm really amazed by what they've done. I was put off by the tales of it being blurry and almost unplayable but I've never once felt that it has looked like that. Kiera looked hot anyway 😉

Out of interest, did people reporting Joy-Con drift also play Celeste?

Just 'finished' the main story missions last night. It definitely feels the kind of game that could could cause issues - especially to the left stick :)

Surely Celeste is a d-pad game? (Having not played it.)

I couldn't get on with the D-pad, too much direction changing in a nanosecond.

I wish Nintendo would make a d-pad only joy con. Be great for indies and older games.

I think the hori joy con has a decent d pad. Better than the official one at any rate.

I find the position of the d-pad awkward so ideally I would like one without an analogue stick and the pad in its position instead. Which sadly the hori one doesnít resolve, thanks for the heads up though. Unless I havnít found it yet

Yeah, Witcher 3 is fine on the Switch. It can be a bit blurry sometimes, but you get used to it quickly and it very rarely looks bad, unless you're directly comparing it to the higher res console versions. I have it on PS4 as well, but still chose to play through it on the Switch due to the portability.

I've kinda stopped playing it for the time being after around 45 hours, but that's more due to getting a bit bored with the game itself rather than any technical issues. I did the same thing with the PS4 version, but this time I will definitely get back to it and try to see it through at some point.

The 8bit do pads are good for 2d games.

I played Celeste with the Pro controller d-pad, usually in one of two situations:

    1) the Switch perched on the couch arm-rest while the wife watched TV, or
    2) in bed with a goose-neck mount.

re: Witcher 3, the resolution wouldn't bother me much if the frame-rate is relatively steady. I wouldn't say I'm especially sensitive to frame-rates, but I remember getting a sore head from trying to play Borderlands 2 on PS Vita because it was so choppy. I'm tempted by picking up the Switch port but I have 50 hours on a Steam copy and will persevere with that eventually.

Played and finished it entirely with the analogue stick. A stick that can drift to the left occasionally too. Awesome awesome game. So glad I didn't resort to using the assists even when I was struggling

    @Murbs

Same. And D-pad was too digital. Needed a lot of after-touch to land jumps and there are some insane quick changes of direction. Amazed you did it with drift, that would have driven me mad! There were times I thought I might make mine drift with the work out I gave the analogue sticks though ;)

Great game - going to start the B-side tonight!

How similar is TMS to the Persona games? Very tempted as P5 is one of my top games this gen but the impression I get from reviews etc is they've toned down a lot of the day to day stuff in place of more battles.

Yes! Can't wait. Another Wii U game that I never had the time to get into that I'm delighted is coming to Switch.

I love the item description "It will shake quite a bit and make you uncomfortable if you need to touch or tap the device frequently. However it is inevitable due to some law of physics." Some law of physics. Ha.

His appearance is dependent on the position of Arsenal in the league. The lower they go, the more he disappears.

Bloomin' heck. Just had a neighbour ask if the 60 quid Amazon are currently asking for the Fortnite Deep Freeze bundle was a good deal! 60 bloody quid!

I've just had to show them how to use the eShop on their kids console to prove it's a free to download game.
