Started on Mario Odyssey with the 5 year old yesterday, wow that's some game! He's Mario and I'm Cappy and it's absolutely glorious.

We loved Luigi's Mansion and as a co-op experience that certainly worked better, but Odyssey is just pure joy.

A post in praise of the Nintendo repair service. I sent off the left joycon (after fixing it myself only for the drift to return), with proof of purchase from just over two years ago.

They repaired straight away and I've got it back now, all in all took less than two weeks, so it's worth a go even if you've had the joycon more than two years. Also got another 12 month warranty on top.

Last night I played a bit of Luigiís Mansion, some Linkís Awakening, a quick shot of Mario Kart and some replay of Super Mario Odyssey and BOTW.
It struck me how amazing a console it is, games of that quality on a tiny wee console :)

I'm actually struggling a bit with Luigi's Mansion 3. It just doesn't feel as carefully crafted or considered as 2. It has less frustrating bosses, but most of them are very similar. The floors are visually distinct and pretty to look at, but they're not particularly interesting to play. I'm about 4 floors from the end and I can't say I haven't enjoyed it, but I imagine it's release has more to do with giving fans what they want, rather than actually considering how to improve on the previous game.

I'll second that, sent my drifting left joycon off last Monday and got it back today. Fixed free of charge even though it was past the two year warranty, and it seems all good so far.

I have a friend who was in a similar position and they charged him 29 quid for a repair. Pretty poor really, considering it's such a widespread issue.

Crikey. I see Cities Skylines is $10 on the US eshop. That's *mighty* tempting.

It's £8.99 on the UK shop now too. Just bought it but have no time/plans to play it any time soon (unless I have to isolate for two weeks!)

Murder by numbers is a great little game, not sure if the Phoenix Wright element is anywhere near as detailed so far. But itís a nice marriage of picross being attached to something a little more meaningful as it were even if the puzzle links are tenuous.
Well worth a buy so far a few hours in if the idea of it appeals at all.

Probably not the best time to encourage people to travel, tbh.

Agree with this. It's nowhere near as deep as PW but it's still well worth playing for anyone who enjoys that style of game.

Yep I'm enjoying Murder by Numbers too.

Also probably one of the campest games I've played in a long time!

Snes wireless controllers back in stock for 26 quid but the cheeky fuckers are charging 9 quid for delivery. They had a sale from me until they sprung that on me.

There's an indie Direct happening tomorrow. I don't really need to buying else right now, but hopefully there will be some good stuff for later in the year.

Iím a little torn with whether I should get a Switch or a Lite, or neither, for some quarantine fun.

Iím probably more a traditional-controller on the telly kind of player but the difference is $250 or more...

Itís proving harder than I thought. The PS4 Pro is $429 - with access to my whole digital library - and the cheapest regular Switch Iíve found is $450. With no games. I know Iíd wind up buying the controller ($89) and Breath Of The Wild ($89) so itís, boy... want to wait for a sale...
