Registered 7 years agoQuestion time. I'm thinking of getting a lite for the boy. He does have an account on my switch. Can he link the 2, and swap to mine when he wants to play on the TV? I know he's going to want to play it in the tv at some point but I dont trust him enough with a normal switch. -

Registered 5 years ago@the_milkybar_kid The only way that will work is if he has an online membership of some kind and can back up his cloud saves (so they can be downloaded to a second console).
Also, being Nintendo, certain games like Splatoon 2 and Animal Crossing do not support could saves, so you would be able to do this with those games. -

Cheers mate. I've resigned to the fact I may have to buy 2 copies of AC if I decide to get it. Never played one but the lure is quite strong.

Registered 16 years agoI dont know if the switch version is supposed to be a bit dodgy or not, will know soon enough, but Phantom Doctrine for £1.79 is a ridiculous bargain.
Xcom meets The Man from U.N.C.L.E. and its pretty damned cool. -

Registered 3 years agoExit the gungeon is as good as enter... I still need to beat that game actually.
Picked up a split pad pro today, it’s going to take some getting used too but I like the sticks and buttonz -

Registered 5 years agoI love the mechanics in Enter the Gungeon, but there are way too many variables. Even after 10 hours I was unlocking new weapons (many of which I didn't like) and felt I couldn't nail a consistent run to due having to adapt all the time.
Dead Cells is fantastic, but suffers this same issue in reverse. After 40 hours I couldn't really be bothered with the overly randomized weapons and skills dictating how well a run might pan out. It just became too much and I began to lose interest.
This is why Spelunky is still king of the genre. It has plenty of secrets to discover, is very difficult, but the core game is nice and simple. You improve with experience, rather than grinding. The item pool is not polluted with nonsense and although a run can be dictated by the layouts of stages and your gear, you can still adapt and finish a run in a number of ways if you're on form. -

Registered 7 years agoPicked up a handful of titles on shop sale recently.
The good ones:
- Blazing Beaks~ if you like Enter the Gungeon or roguelikes of that ilk, definitely give this a go. A really fun, tight, challenging game. I really like this one a lot.
- Streets of Rogue~ Another brilliant little indie roguelike, with heaps of potential for emergent game play. Extremely difficult.
The bad ones:
- Warlocks 2: God Slayers~ Absolutely terrible controls, and bad game play. Avoid.
- Atomic Heist~ A poor example of the roguelike genre.
(Full Price!) - Katana Kami: A Way of the Samurai Story~ It looks like an isometric version of Nioh mixed with Diablo, but don’t be fooled! Despite a good combat system, there is barely any content to the game. Enemy and boss types are extremely limited. There is only one dungeon, of 20 floors, with almost zero variation to the environments or rooms. The story...isn’t. The loot and crafting system is the one of the worst ever created. Avoid this one! -

Registered 14 years agoThis went pretty unnoticed among the other big news of the past week (most of them virus-related), but I just discovered that Shadow Man Remastered is official and it's coming to PS4/X1/Switch/PC next year.
I could do with Shadow Man on the Switch. Unfortunately, it will depend on whether they change the regular gun sound with a less aggravating one. -
