Was a solid mini direct. A lot of great games in there even if about 90% were ports.

So envious of those who haven't yet played Xenoblade, it's amazing and will be much better on Switch.

Hopefully it'll look better handheld than 2, but even that was easy enough to get used to

@rice_sandwich the first Shiren was real hard, my one completion in 50 hours was almost down to pure luck. But I remember that Shiren 5, while still pretty hard, did have a few aids for beginners. Mostly because the NPC followers are actually useful. Tao can be recruited for cheap, and she hits real hard. Kojiro, Okon and Koharu will also help a lot, especially the foxes, and they follow you for free. Completing the basic story mode wasn't overly difficult. I even completed it a couple times again in the post-end content, to finish the Tao and Kojiro subquests.

The trouble, as usual, starts with the bonus dungeons. Never managed to finish any of them. Which sucks, because after the end of the story, some followers will be trapped in one of the dungeons and you can't recruit them anymore until you defeat the boss.

I am really tempted to buy XC again. Reached a mountain after about 100 hours on Wii and then got distracted by something else.

That area was a huge let down compared to the spectacle of other bits. It looked much better in the new trailer though.

I can certainly see myself buying it again. For the third time. Maybe I'll even finish it this time.

    I won't.

Surprised more hasn't been made of this tbh, but the whole of Arms is free to download and play until 6th April for NSO subscribers. I know it's an old game now, but still, it's a first for Nintendo and a pretty generous length of time to play.
Nice, thanks for the tip. Iíve got 4 joycon so Iím guessing my son and I can lamp each other \o/

When Mario + Rabbids released on Switch at the same time as XCOM 2 on PC I never imagined XCOM 2 eventually making it to the Switch. I bet itíll run like a dog.

I never thought it would work either. But then I never thought Witcher 3 would work, and it (basically) did.

Either way I'm happy to have portable XCOM 2, even if it looks a bit rougher.

I'm day 1 on xenoblade. I got about 40 hrs in (I think I got to the knee or hips) loving it but was playing it on the Wii a good couple of years after release and got distracted by some other shiny new console...

Having put over 100 hrs into completing 2 and this having a new epilogue I'm all in for more!

    Anyone tried Good Job yet?

Looks really fun, I'll probably grab it tonight. Always on the lookout for couch co-op games since Overcooked got me and my partner hooked.

I don't mind if XCOM 2 looks a bit rough, it's more about the performance. I'll more than likely buy that again at some point, it's a fantastic game.

Looking forward to Xenoblade, I've never played that before.

@StixxUK did you play that stretchers game? Looks fun but the surprise release means it didn't get talked about much so not sure if it's decent or not..

My son liked the look of that game the most in the Direct. If you get it let us know how it turns out (as Overcooked 1 & 2 have done well in the household).

That really is hilarious. How you can possibly charge the same as a 'new' release is beyond me.

@waggy79 EA is not exactly new to this. Remastered on PS4/Xbox was also £35, even the PC version which was more or less the same as the original.

But in that case, they dropped the price to £15 pretty quickly because nobody was that stupid. I expect something similar on the Switch, unless people really are desperate for racing games.

No, didn't try it in the end - didn't think it got great reviews so just waiting for a sale... I'll wait and see what people think of this new one though, still got enough Overcooked DLC to keep me going!

Cant find the Civilization thread so this will have to do.
Does anyone know if the two expansions have been on sale before? Iíd love to buy (plenty of time sat at home now!) but I donít fancy spending 32 quid on them. Itís probably worth it based on the use I got out of the base game but itís usually the sort of thing that has a decent sale every now and then.

Or a cheaper way to get shop credit?

Xenoblade Remaster coming out, yay. Extra content, yay. Collector's Edition too with a meaty 250 page art book, yay. Europe are getting an even better one with a fancy vinyl and a likely much higher price tag... Why would I want an expensive vinyl that will get as much use as my Bioshock 2 one? (still in its original box). I know vinyls are popular but surely not enough to stick in a regular consumer CE... If it wasn't for the instasellout factor the US gets with Nintendo first party LEs I would be tempted to import... I bought the last few XB CE/LEs.

And 90 quid on nintendo store and out of stock already ;) Less worrying then Project Zero 5 was as that only had the LE with no alternative (and even worse importing the FE Fates LE from the US)

Edit - Not to mention sheer size of the boxes, too many giant LEs or poor value ones (FE 3 Houses was first FE I skipped the LE on as it seemed overpriced for what it contained). Too little space and too much telling off from the wife when something else big gets delivered...

Edit 2 - UK copy sold out everywhere except Base with a 40 quid markup. Solves that problem...

    Wow.

Was stoked to hear this was coming to the Switch. Less so now.

Will wait for the inevitable 50% off sale.

One Step From Eden is a rush. Insanely fast and difficult, with a very steep learning curve, but quite thrilling game play.
