Haven't seen it mentioned here but Two Point Hospital has had an excellent update with a very nicely fleshed out Sandbox mode. Time to sink another 30+ hours into it! |

Registered 3 years agoOk few notes on games I have played about half hour or so of -
X-com 2 - it’s really impressive what they have managed, you can see the compromises they have made fo get it onto switch but it is nice enough to play.
Invisible inc- really think this is going to be a time sink, a lot of fun and really nicely presented.
Star Wars episode 1: pod racer - at £12 it is a barebones port with no online, but it is just as much fun as I remember, some of the tracks hurt my eyes at top speed but it’s really good. -

Registered 8 years ago@Graxlar_v3 I got Episode 1 Racer on the PS4. It isn’t much of an improvement on the version I had on PC back in the day. But it is great fun, and mildly challenging so far. It will take some time to get as good as I used to be. To be honest, if they had tarted up the graphics, sound and threw in online gameplay I would have been happier to drop about £30 for it.

Registered 14 years agoAnyone been playing that Ninjala? It's totally different to what I was expecting, kind of a cross between Fortnite and smash Bros with a Splatoon aesthetic.
Controls are a bit strange, and the parry system takes some getting used to, but I keep having one more go.
Price seems a bit mad though, costumes cost 2000 vbuc.. robu.. Sorry... Jala, which works out to £16 in earth money!?

Registered 3 years agoDisappointed Beneath A Steel Sky isn't being put on Switch. Just seems like a bizarre choice to throw it on Steam after Apple Arcade, but not Switch?

Registered 1 year agoReally wanting the following at the moment:
1) A chilled(ish) survival/crafting game with a bit of risk (i.e. so not Animal Crossing)
2) A half-decent low-pressure sim, such as construction/car/bus/plane.
I think I'm going to settle with Minecraft for #1, there really doesn't seem to be much else out there. For #2, I considered Truck & Logistics Simulator which has just come out, but after watching a few Let's Play videos it looks utterly devoid of any soul whatsoever. I loved Mud Runner but have pretty much exhausted that.
Everything else looks like terrible mobile ports, I still have fond memories of Tokyo Bus Guide on the Dreamcast. I wish somebody like Rockstar would take their existing engine and just give us an open-world sim with rules/regs.
I really am spoiled by the Switch because even though both of the above are ten a penny on PC, the idea of having to sit up in the study and play is completely alien to me now (and realistically, not practical). -

Registered 7 years agoHow about Terraria for #1? Loads to craft, survival based, and you can play it at your own pace. I got bored of Minecraft pretty quickly but Terraria had me hooked for ages. You can get a physical copy off eBay for around £15. -

Two Point Hospital is scratching my 'Sim City' itch, I was thinking more along the lines of a game where you can actually drive/pilot something that isn't a racing car.

Registered 1 year agoKind of under the radar this one, but as of midnight retailers will no longer be able to sell Switch download codes for first party games in the EU.
That's cutting off a significant option for digital content and basically removes any chance of first party digital discounts apart from official sales.
Quite tempted to pick up 51 Worldwide Games for £27 before midnight. -

Registered 16 years ago@ukaskew37 yup, there goes the chance to get a healthy discount on a digital game. Will simply have to wait for eshop sales from now on. Or buy physical of course.
edit: spotted you in the Nintendolife comments section so wasn't surprised to see your post

So they can make more money probably as all games will always be full price.
