Plea for help. Anyone got advice on how to get a wired controller working with the docking station? Haven't used it that much, it's new (a licensed PDP glowy one), and have forgotten whatever ritual the NintenGod required to get it linked up the last few times. I'm probably missing something very basic (functioning brain?) so feel free to Idiot's Guide me through it if you've any ideas. |

Fair enough! And if it doesn't work at that point?

It seems fine plugged in to a PC (the LED diodes light up at least) but isn't recognised in either of the the Switch dock's USB ports. Does that sound like a known fault? -

Registered 6 years agoGot the dreaded analogue stick drift this weekend. However, I managed to fix it by spraying some WD40 Fast Drying Electrical Contact cleaner into the analogue stick and rotating it around for 30 seconds before giving it a wipe. I've had no such issue since.
Highly recommended if anyone runs into the same issue.

Registered 15 years agoI know it’s not cool to admit, but Minecraft on Switch must be the buggiest game I’ve played in a long long time. Glad I’m not trying to help a child play it and figure why they can’t connect to online, nor why they are being attacked by invisible enemies.
It also has annoying network issues whenever a game is resumed, and has started to crash on exit since the latest patch.

Registered 5 years ago@askew I think the servers are really borked at the moment. I've had issues just loading single player maps. Not sure what's going on, but it's not usually as bad as it currently is. -

I'm looking at XCOM2, Dark Souls, and Crysis all at $20 each. Not sure if I'd prefer the iOS version of XCOM2 though, and Dark Souls may well test my patience. Never played Crysis so that's looking likely at least... -

Registered 7 years agoWell, I posted in a here a few weeks ago about my son's switch being buggered. I sent it back to Nintendo for repairs and, apart from them taking a good couple of weeks to acknowledge receipt, which had me a bit worried, they've been great. I didn't provide any proof of purchase as was 2 years ago I bought it and must have thrown my receipts out etc in the meantime. I thought they'd charge a small fortune but just got confirmation it's on the way back and they've replaced the main board. The great news is they've indicated it's still in warranty so the repair hasn't cost anything. Pretty chuffed. The boy will be over the moon to have his Fortnite machine back. -

Registered 1 year agoI'm not going to 100% the first one. I've completed the game. There's a few things left that I want to do but would be good to know when HKII is coming so I can look forward to it.

Registered 17 years agoFair enough - I think my post sounded a lot more confrontational than I intended! It's been a while since I played HK, I'd forgotten that there is a large amount of optional content in the game. -

Registered 16 years agoSo I picked up Crysis on sale. Decent port! But in starting it I’ve come to the conclusion that I’ve gone right off the FPS as a genre. Wish I’d grabbed a new RPG instead. Divinity, Dark Souls, or Atlier Ryza for example. -

Registered 7 years ago@Murbs same here. I've played so many FPS every now feels the same.
I look through my Switch collection and every game is different. I look through my friends Xbox collection and every game is an FPS. He says he's had enough and is bored of games yet refuses to play other genres. -

I went for XCOM2 on Switch for £16 on the strength of a video on YouTube suggesting the Switch port is slightly higher res. I find that difficult to believe because the Switch version is really quite lo-res at times (playing handheld), but it’s not a problem. Load times are better than I expected, certainly not worse than on PS4 Pro from my brief experience. Having recently played Enemy Within on iPad Pro I like having physical controls again.
