Really late on this one (now available on amazon) but i'm about halfway through season 1 and loving this. I never really dabbled that much into any DD comics (although aware of the basic set up) but already it is making me question my love for Batman. Added a few GN to my wishlist. Just not enough time in the day to read loads of comics.

Impressed. It is relentlessly dark though, in episode 3 i was relieved that they had a conservation outside in the light.

Personally, i think so far it was one of the best.. if not best comic adaptations i have seen (obviously only 7 or so episodes in).Just Thinking how good a dredd series could be.

About 9 or 10 episodes in on season 2. Loving The Punisher storyline and the internal conflict that Matt is having. Not so fussed about ninjas, maybe vampire ninjas??

Ninjas are the bread and butter of DD.

But they're not exactly the best part of the second season of the TV show.

I loved the second series of Netflix and the added inclusion of the hand made it even better. My missus who knows nothing about comic books was a little less enthused.

Only reason they were not the best bit of the second season is cos the Punisher story line was so good.

I like them. I expect them too, so I'm not really disappointed when they turn up.

True up until they ended up in court, whereupon it just became something to give Karen to do and ended in a flaming pile of almost laughable bullshit.

The curse of the superhero. The normal life sections are never as good as the costumed side. It didn't help that Karen was such a sappy character this time around.

'by the way, that's your office'
    'what?'
'youre a right nosey bastard which, apparently, qualifies you to be a great journalist, so I gave you a job without telling you'
'ok, thanks... but the fact that you would even do that combined with the fact that you pretty much got Ben killed last year means I'll pass. You are pretty much terrible at everything other than dishing out trite motivational speeches'

And as they're having that conversation you can see the long-suffering office intern listening in, eyes welling up with tears.

I'm watching it right now. I'm about 2/3 of the way into the session. It's good. I'm really enjoying it. Glad they dropped all the faceless ninja stuff.

And finished. Great stuff. I really enjoyed this a lot. I hope they don't go and cancel the show. They improved on session 2 by making it about people with personalities rather than faceless ninja. It didn't feel bloated either the pacing was perfect.

Speaking of bloated, is Foggy in it much?

I'm one episode from finishing it and I love it. The only Marvel show I can say that about really. And foggy is in it a bit but even he isn't quite as annoying in this. Still bloated though.

Anybody got as far as the motherfucking prison break one take tracking shot that lasts for about 10 bloody minutes?!?!?!?

    Just wow.

Two eps to go and it's been very, very sold stuff. Probably the best Netflix Marvel season so far, ranks up there at the top with Punisher for me.

Read Born Again when it first came out as a kid and to see a loose adaption of that on screen has been a bit of a thrill. It's far less lurid and probably correctly so, but pretty pretty good all the same.

Yeah, Just think it puts all the other marvel shows to shame really. Just hope the other shows don't put people off watching this as it really is worth a watch.

@richarddavies I dunno, AoS has had some pretty great moments along the way, it's a much maligned show and incorrectly so I reckon.

Yeah, it's right up there with that one from True Detective, that one from The House On Haunted Hill and that one from Legion.

Seems to be a one take competitive league running at the moment with creative TV directors, finally being given the budget and freedom to do this kind of thing in TV. It's a great time for long-form storytelling.

I see Karen's journalism career is progressing nicely. With her year, year of experience I can certainly see her being assigned all the big stories to cover by herself.

Finished it last night and loved it overall. Suppose the only story niggle i had was towards the end with Nadeem. So they get him to court to testify and it all backfires as Kingpin has control over everyone so it doesn't work. But then the thing that finally takes Kingpin down is the same agent, making the same testimony but through the power of iphone and all of a sudden his empire crumbles? iphones can do anything.

They did go over that, about why it worked. Idk enough about law to say if it's right or not.

Enjoyed the season though. Entertaining throughout.

Going to give this a go I think. What shit do I need to know? I've watched the first 2 seasons and The Punisher. And half of season 1 of Jessica Jones. And 15 minutes of episode 1 of the Defenders. And the 3 minutes of Luke Cage.
