| @Blakester I missed half the audio in series 1. Not because of technical problems, but because mumbling is good acting apparently 😅 |

Registered 14 years agoIt's okay. It's not really grabbing me all that much but at least it's not risible. -

Registered 8 years agoI can't abide fucking mumbling though. What was that shit with Tom Hardy where you needed to put the subtitles on?
Edit:Taboo.
Is the mumbling Taboo bad?

Registered 12 years agoThis had totally slipped off my radar. Good to know it's a bit more like the first (which I really enjoyed) than the second (which was ... okay).
Thanks for the heads-up folks, I'll give it a watch over the weekend. -

I've heard and understood every word that's been said, to be honest.
Then again I've been known to mumble a bit myself, so... -

Registered 16 years agoI tried watching season 2 again. I gave up at episode 4 since I couldn't tell where the plot was going and what everyone's motivations were.
Imho it's a hot mess, trying to be Noir while coming across as confused. -

Registered 9 years agoYeah it was a wee bit of a clusterfook especially after the 1st season was so good. -

Registered 8 years agoI didn't even bother with two. I only watched the first season a couple of years back, which was fantastic (As everyone said). Three is great as well, it is mumble heavy though and had to rewind a few scenes now and again.
Talking of Tom Hardy, they had the Dark Knight Rises on Sky One recently and I think they must have re-edited the whole thing. His voice was a lot clearer than the cinema release by a mile. Had no issues understanding him. -

Registered 16 years agoI persevered with season 2. It does get infinitely more watchable after the shootout and I even managed to finish it.
It does get better over time, but the first 5 episodes are like watching paint dry while watching shocking acting from Vince Vaughn. "Don't do anything out of hunger, even eating". Seriously?

There are some decent bits in S2, but they're setpiece moments (like the orgy house episode and the big shootout), you can just watch them completely removed from the clusterfuck that is the narrative.
