@CosmicFuzz I can't. Mainly because I rent and could have to move at any point. With mobile tethering I get full usage for what I pay for and can move without the need to wait to be reconnected (which in some cases where there's no line in could take a month, meaning paying a month line rental for no service).
I rent too. Not bothered me moving house (Ive moved about every year or so for the last few years.

Do you regularly get kicked out at a minutes notice?

Not really, just tired of the same old ball ache. With mobile internets, it's much easier.

It's always at least two weeks' notice to move home broadband, which is a fucking ridiculous state of affairs

Well considering you get at a minimum one months notice before being told to gtfo, two weeks notice isn't THAT bad.

Unless the new property is already inhabited with existing broadband, in which case you have to wait for them to vacate before provisioning.

Ohhhh. Good point. I've only ever rented properties that were already vacant, wasn't aware of that.

Well the CPW contract is a month by month thing, so if I found a place I knew I'd be in for a couple of years I would take advantage of a normal broadband connection. But unfortunately life isn't like that for me at the moment. /shrug

Going through it right now, so I'm a little raw!

"Oh, there's already a service there, so you'll need to wait for that service to no longer be active"
    /waits a few weeks
"Oh, there's no line at the property, we'll have to get BT out"

    But, but.....(quiet voice) you cunts

Does anyone do unlimited tethering? 3 have been phasing it out for months now. I'd be surprised if it was offered elsewhere.
I downloaded Titanfall via 4G tethering when I got my Xbox One - chewed through 25GB in just over an hour.

It was better than my broadband. :(

Its BT connecting up thats the problem. If you use BT broadband its faster! Go figure!

It can be a pain in the arse, but if you move to an empty property have the line switched on and arranged prior to moving in.

I'm dreading the day Three cut off my unlimited tethering, haven't heard anything from them yet. It's more about the peace of mind that comes from not having to count each gigabyte than actually using it all the time.
